Nick Saban says that a "runner" actually came on campus
at Bama and tried to give his players money, and then, was allowed back on campus later because they couldn’t keep him off due to the rules as they stand now???
Someone please tell me that the roof is not getting ready to fall in??
Could this actually lead to the NCAA REALLY doing something?
Can the schools simply ban the NFL and all persons associated with the NFL from making their way onto campus activities?
Stay tuned sports-fans, more later same Cat-time, same Cat-channel!!
I AM THE CAT......The Cat In The Hat!!!
"Can the schools simply ban the NFL and all persons associated with the NFL from making their way onto campus activities?"
Even if they can, there are some (i.e. USC, UF) that won’t, and the coaches at those schools will use that as a tool in recruiting. Why would a recruit want to go to a school that bans NFL personnel from campus when there are other schools that don’t? For the most part, and even though most don’t make it, the dream of 95% of amateur football players attending college to play football are doing so for a shot at the pros. They’re going to go where they can get the best shot – the schools that still allow NFL personnel on campus.
So, to me, discussing whether or not it’s a possibility is moot unless there is a mandate, applicable to ALL NCAA football schools, across the board, that NFL personnel be prohibited from being on campus. And that’s just not going to happen.

The NCAA and NFL would have to team up...
and punish agents who make illegal contact with college athletes.
Though I don’t totally buy the argument that athletes aren’t culpable – because they’re ignorant (they’re generally not bright, but they got into college) – when they reciprocate contacts with agents, I think it’s irrelevant anyway. The schools will be the ones punished, not the athletes. Generally, I feel like the typical college athlete’s allegiance to his alma mater is weaker than ever; most athletes view their program simply as a vehicle to make it to the pros and get the money. If they can jumpstart the process without being punished, at the expense of their school, they’ll go for it.

Or Maurkice Pouncey.
(Of course) he’s denying that he accepted any funds from an agent’s representative, and the evidence being reported of the allegations is suspect at best (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=5398414), but whatever evidence the NCAA received was enough to launch an investigation.
These players know they shouldn’t accept money from agents, or reciprocate contact at all (see: UA, UNC & USC players in the news who allegedly attended parties hosted by the agents), but they do anyway because they, as individuals, have nothing to lose. To be sure, if they’re getting money while still maintaining their eligibility as amateurs and do, in fact, have futures as professionals, they have everything to gain, even earlier than expected.

Each thing I see, read or hear about the upcoming season gets me more excited. Let it be known I will be continuing down that road of Irrational Exuberance and as we approach the season I’ll have to put together another preseason prognostication along that azure path.
The live stream
is automatically playing every time I return to the main page. This is very annoying. How do you turn it off?
I woke up feeling BLUE this morning. It's gonna be a great day.
If I understand
I just click on the “start-stop” icon on the video (bottom left hand corner).
