Coach Cal Wants the Big Blue Nation to Vote for Erin Andrews

I don't know about you, but I'm all in.  From Twitter (two tweets rolled into one:

UKCoachCalipari
Support Erin Andrews, as Dancing w/the Stars begins its 2 nite finale. Make sure u vote 4 Erin by texting "Vote" to 3403 or visit abc.com.

I'm asking the Big Blue Nation 2 help put her over the top - she has worked hard & overcome a lot just to get to this point. Proud of u EA!

And Erin can dance a little bit, too.  She's not just a pretty face.

I know it's all in fun, but...

I can’t see a coach twittering about this. Come on, even Dickie V. hasn’t voiced an opinion on this one, and he has an opinion about everything! He also (Dickie V.) has a love crush on Erin Andrews. I think there are more appropriate thinks for the head coach to focus on. But it’s just my opinion. Heck, I don’t even watch the show.

Well ...

What he’s talking about is the embarrassment EA went through when she had that peephole video stalker. She was really torn up about that, and DTWS is her way of getting her confidence back.

It’s a classic “bounce back” in the most Calipari understanding of the term. That’s why he cares. I like that he does.

Can't Cal have a little Cal time?

If he wants to watch DWTS and pull for Erin, why not? Besides he might use that extra scholarship and recruit her.

I woke up feeling BLUE this morning. It's gonna be a great day.

Hah!

I had to do a double take to see if this really was posted by Tru, and not BigSkyCat. :-)

As far as the tweets, not sure about the number to text “vote” to, but I have seen the last part, word for word before. He has been pulling for her a long time. She is bouncing back.

Blue... there is no other color to Bleed !!!

oldcat70.......

I’m not a fan of DWTS but my wife is and sometimes I join her. It’s not bad.

But what I am a fan of is John Calipari’s willingness to help people. Too bad the news media doesn’t focus on more of these activities rather than subtly accusing him of doing wrong.

How does one vote?

OK professor so I mispelled ANOTHER word. However in the English language when a word cannot be found to describe the situation it is permissible to “coin a word”.

So now our language has a new word. Remember it and use it. At one time “ain’t” was not listed in Webster’s Dictionary. Now it is accepted as a colloquial expression and is in the dictionary. Good thing for us Kentuckian’s too.

Anyway I know you by now. You ain’t nothin’ but a joker. LOL

I still love you though and expect a bottle of top of the line French wine for Christmas. LOL LOL

Sorry you misunderstood

my attempt at humor. You said that he was being subtly accused of doing wrong. I questioned whether or not all of these attacks qualified as subtle. I am not the grammar policeman for this blog. By the way, my spell checker does not identify subtly as a misspelling.

This is a joke, right?

I mean seriously. The UK basketball coach is tweeting this??? It’s just weird, or creepy, or just too much. He’s ‘jumped the shark’ on this one.

Heh.

It’s actually totally in character — something that has always apparently escaped you.

That’s not a criticism, by the way. There are a number of people who I just don’t get. It’s just a part of human nature. Some people’s motivations are simply beyond our ken for whatever reason.

But I totally get this, and it’s completely in Calipari’s character.

Well I'll just breathlessly await his message on who I should pull for in The Bachelorette.

And who he will throw his weight behind on The Biggest Loser. I wonder what gal he likes on The View?

Oh, I get Cal better than you think. He’s transparent. I can even see lines of ‘reasonability’….and he crossed that. Doesn’t make him a bad guy, but I does make him appear silly and so the fans that love it. Yeech.

good play

Perfect use of twitter. Lending power of large following to an immediate action. She is a good subject and tied to us in a strange way. Nothing creepy at all.

On the CALculating side, even politicians butter the press with food and drink so why can’t we sew the seeds of love with a tweet to help a legit person with a legit reason.

Go Cal Go!

For the record, can’t deal with DWTS.

Changing how you think will change what you think.

Sorry Cal but

i gotta go with anna strebunskaya(?) and her partner lyecechik or something….didn’t watch last night so I don’t even know if they are still happening or not, but my vote is for her. not only can she dance but she wears the BEST costumes!

Saddened that Cal is going with the “sexy” sports pick. Oh well, he’s got plenty of other things on his mind.

ESPN news flash

According to ESPN, Worldwide Wes has contacted Fox to see if they have any interest in John Calipari leaving UK to compete in next fall’s Dancing with the Stars. These rumors are generally pretty reliable. Apparently Mitch has already contacted Jeff Lebo about filling in as Cal’s replacement at Kentucky.

by chicagoblues on May 25, 2010 7:05 AM EDT reply actions

Wow.

Now Hoze can dance! His Cardinals might win a game against Kentucky.

Nah, even Lebo can probably handle them. :-)

First seaon I've watched. I tape the show

and FF through all the behind the scenes stuff and those three hyper-judges. The dancing is very, very good once you weed out the pretenders.

Erin is a very good dancer, very beautiful.

Nicole Scherzinger, though, is the better dancer of the two. And I wouldn’t throw her out of bed for eating crackers… even if Crackers was my dog. That is no knock on Erin (nor Crackers), Nicole is a ringer.

Of course it is a popularity contest, more than anything. Otherwise Ocho Stinko would have been sent home earlier.

No matter where you're at, there you are
