You know....
I have heard Cal call us “crazy UK fans”, “but in a good way”. I wonder if he sometimes thinks about dropping the last part of our title? “One last time” sounds a little like something I said to my kids to warn them it was time to chill. ;-)
Blue... there is no other color to Bleed !!!
Old Joke But True (Sometimes)
Best thing about UK basketball?
The fanbase.
Worst thing about UK basketball?
The fanbase.

Haha!
Very true more often than not! ;)
It is not worth an intelligent man’s time to be in the majority. By definition, there are already enough people to do that.

Very true, Forty!
.
But are you sure that originated as a joke?
I think it is just an accurate observation, on both counts.

I've Heard UK Players Say It Over The Years
But always in a joking way, never (fully) serious.

Excellent.
It’s all good then. I’m happy. :)

Good, this is what needed to be said
Now don’t pull a Nick Saban……j/k
Then it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel
is just a freight train coming your way.
I hate SportsCenter now
Watching ESPN when someone came on with a “Break Announcement” then started off but uttering the following line, “One and done seems to be a popular phrase used in basketball today, and in the case of John Callipari….” this is about where the heart murmur started I think…Then I heard the words “staying” and I think it stopped. Next thing I remember is they were talking about LeBron again.
On a related note: LeBron possibly going to Nets, who will undoubtedly have the #1 in the draft and elect to take John Wall. “King” James and the Great Wall of Kentucky together? Awesome idea or really awesome idea? Discuss…

Awesomest.
I am withdrawing my name from the NBA Draft, and announcing my intention to accept a scholarship offer to play PF for UK.
Record the message and play it backwards
It says he’s headed to Cleveland to coach LeBron.
I knew it…. I just knew it!
:)

Could it be....
SATAN! (bad Dana Carvey reference)
has he claimed the soul of Cal? NOOOOO!!!
Cal is here to stay and I wonder if we sent him messages of thanks and acknowledgement of his message he will sleep better? :j
good one cincy!

I take something for it.
You must have been exposed to "Jouney into Rock"

"all the way"
But, but
He didn’t say how long he would be coaching at UK next year. He might jump to the NBA in October when the season starts!
3 > 2, except for very large values of 2.

You and me both sister.
I was seriously starting to worry and get mad about it. I loooove Cal as our coach and am nowhere near ready to give him up yet!

I never have understood how Brown became a head coach in the NBA
It always seemed that coaching is the missing piece for Cleveland.
"all the way"
I can't see Cal leaving until after the 2011-2012 season
Two reasons:
1. UK really wants to get their hands on Michael Gilchrist, and Knight and Teague to a lesser degree, and he knows they will pay to keep Cal there in order to them (in fact, they’re about to start negotiations as we speak). Also, Cal knows he best chance to win a Championship is when he has Gilchrist, Teague, and Knight playing together (which will happen because of reason #2). If he wins an NCAA championship AND has the option of continuing to coach on of these future superstars in the NBA, the contract they will offer him will be astronomically high.
2. The purposed (and very likely) NBA lockout in 2012. That’s a year Cal won’t make any money and won’t have his name in the paper as much if he’s with the NBA. His best bet is to stick with UK until then when he’ll be offered the most money and have the best opportunity to pick where he goes. If he could end up coaching at the same place as Michael Gilchrist is supposed to go, and bring some other NBA talent in with trades, he could be looking at a shot at the playoffs in his first season. It’s unlikely that Cal could make it to the NBA playoffs in his first season if he does indeed go to the NBA, even if it is Cleveland with LeBron staying, because he’ll ask for so much money that it will be hard to keep some of the talent they already have, and let’s face Cleveland will definitely be doing some major house cleaning in the off season. And the Bulls? Having James and Rose just won’t be enough to get the job done right away.

Coaches would be paid in lock-out.
I am fairly certain.

Yes they are
But a lot of coaches make a large amount of their yearly salaries with the bonuses they receive from making it to the playoffs or by participating in sponsored events and ad campaigns. With the NBA in lockout, people won’t really care what the coaches of a bunch of teams who aren’t playing are doing.

Sounds great but...
the summer of Lebron has just started. It’s very easy for Cal to say that now before all of the negotiation concerning James begins. And I would like a penny for every time a coach has said he is staying. I hope I am wrong and I will be the first to admit it if I am but I think he is going.
If you are right
Cal should be ready to retire from coaching at the college level. If another school offers him a job, I doubt it would come without a major penalty clause in his contract for leaving early. Just sayin’.
Blue... there is no other color to Bleed !!!
I just heard he would owe UK $2mil
I didn’t know the figure when I posted my reply.
Blue... there is no other color to Bleed !!!
With all the players he has lined up for the next few years, he has not had this much talent ever. He stays.
Agreed,but...
If James goes to the Bulls and Cal follows,or vice versa, joining Derrick Rose,Noah, and others,he would have even more talent at the highest level. I hope he doesn’t go. I really do,but I couldn’t blame him if he did. It would be just an ideal situation.

Calipari's "Commit" = Jones Commit
Opinion from Seattle that Calipari’s confirmation for next season could influence Terrence Jones.

Coach not leaving for anywhere-
He has the best job in the world, and is smart enough to realize it. He wants to coach about ten more years, and it may not entirely be at UK, but he is not leaving yet. I think he wants another shot at a National Title, and knows that in a couple of years, UK can make a run. We are going to have to listen to these rumors every year, so get used to it. One man’s opinion…
"You are what you are and you ain't what you ain't"
ahhhh yeaaaa
well all the uk haters’ prayers were not answered in this off season so far… lets go down the list
1. uk or calipari commit infractions…NOPE
2. uk not land any top talent for the next year…NOPE
3. and finally calipari leaves uk… BIG FAT NOPE
so to the few uk haters that for some reason vists a sea of blue(you know who you are) better luck next year… the only thing you uk haters predicted that came true was uk didn’t get the title this year…. all in due time… its simple math… calipari + uk = 8
Whither Playest The King
Ian Thomsen SI composes a well thought out piece on LeBron’s future including whether he’d want a coach that couldn’t decipher the 1-3-1 and hasn’t won a NCAA championship.
