Since I have the blog to myself tonight
I’ll go ahead and say it: The Cats would kill either of these teams playing now.
I’ll also say, the officiating in this game is wierd.
So, nothing but complaints from me tonight
The camera angle is not good and playing on the elevated floor is not helping either team.
I'm With You
Just not commenting since I’m on iPhone.

I'll join for a bit.
Butler isn’t going to make it easy for MSU, thank goodness. How can you root against Coach K? (“K” as in Kid, not “K” as in Kyajkcbuttassiski.) Butler’s players are keeping their cool, no panic.
I agree with you, any team that can beat Syracuse
Should be able to hang with MSU. Good for Butler that Lucas is not playing tonight.
Good Clark Kellogism
He has to “look aggessively at the basket.” I guess he has to do that because he lacks “spurtability.”
can you imagine
if the tourney goes to ESPN and we miss our time in March with Clark Kellog and the gang??

Their "big guy" has been out most of the half
Pretty fortunate to be as close as they are. They are hitting the defensive boards better than I thought they would
Even with Wall and Bledsoe,
We could have found plenty of minutes for Shelvin Mack, don’t you think?
Couple Of 5 Seeds
Played like it.

Coach's Game So Far
As expected, system and discipline over talent.

Crummy Game, I Thought
Two 5 seeds playing like it.

Plenty of discipline on both teams and the talent not too different either
In my view here. I’m no expert. Like you said, couple of 5 seeds
For the life of me, I don't understand the call
where the defender’s chest “fouls” the offensive player’s elbow
Appears Orton Is Out
Facebook states:
On to San Fran tomorrow….time to get to work
which intimates he’s leaving school — thus costing the Cats a scholarship. Classless if true.
"Perhaps the fact that we have seen millions voting themselves into complete dependence on a tyrant has made our generation understand that to choose one's government is not necessarily to secure freedom" - Hayek
Man, I cannot for the life of me see how staying in school 3-4 more weeks to save the
scholarship would cause him any delays. Starting to change my opinion about this guy.
Leaving School Not In Good Standing
i.e., not finishing the semester negatively impacts NCAA graduation rate rules and possibly to the point of negating a scholarship.
"Perhaps the fact that we have seen millions voting themselves into complete dependence on a tyrant has made our generation understand that to choose one's government is not necessarily to secure freedom" - Hayek
No Doubt The Case
But still leaving school for whatever reason is still negative — although he could come back for finals I suppose.
"Perhaps the fact that we have seen millions voting themselves into complete dependence on a tyrant has made our generation understand that to choose one's government is not necessarily to secure freedom" - Hayek
Certainly changes my opinion of ol' Ort!
Been a fan of his all year but this ain’t cool…
If your wings don't sweep....
I am
just wondering if he is just unhappy on the team and maybe he knows Cuz is coming back ?
Hey a girl can dream can’t she?
That's a good as one as any!! :-)
I just don’t get his thought process behind this… How can you go from sub to NBA 1st round?? If we was “better” than Cuz, why wasn’t he starting?? Like I said, somebody’s feeding him a line…
If your wings don't sweep....
I agree
it just doesn’t make sense to me. I know he is got an awesome vertical leap and excellent blocking skills but nothing jumped out at me saying “PRO PRO PRO”. Cuz is going pro because he is just doing things that a guy his size shouldn’t be able to do. Big guys generally do not go after freshman year.
I thought Orton was supposed to be a smart kid?!
I’m kind of perplexed by how this whole situation is going down. I feel for the kid and wish him the best, but maybe it’s best for all if he doesn’t return, since he clearly does not want to.
by blue kentucky girl on Apr 3, 2010 9:29 PM EDT up reply actions
Both you Ladies have good points...
BKG, you’re really right in that
it’s best for all if he doesn’t return, since he clearly does not want to.
If your wings don't sweep....
The possible lockout
is a major cause, IMO. Guess what it is? A “what if” !!! ;-)
Blue... there is no other color to Bleed !!!
I think you are right.
The lockout possibility has him running scared. The funny thing is, I didn’t realize money was such a big issue for Daniel and/or his family? Guess you never know, do you?
Maybe Gillispie should have paid his dad more...
To talk at that camp.
;-)
Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."

He doesn't
give a crap about UK and his drop out effect on APR, if he in fact does drop out – nothing is confirmed at this point. But, it wouldn’t surprise me after watching his attitude this year. He wears his emotions and he rarely looked like he was well attired.
APR
The 2010 number won’t be announced by NCAA until 2012 and even then, it’s averaged with APR from 2007-08-09.
by FortyYearCatFan on Apr 3, 2010 10:11 PM EDT up reply actions
So it shouldn't cost UK a scholarship, if he drops out?
That would help my thinking.
Blue... there is no other color to Bleed !!!
It's a four year
running average. Somewhat toothless since there is two levels of warnings before you lose a scholarship but it creates bad press. In Cal’s case there’s two positives. First, the bad press doesn’t bother him anymore and second, he’d be just as happy with just 10 scholarships.
How Was That Not A Foul?
Although I like the call.
"Perhaps the fact that we have seen millions voting themselves into complete dependence on a tyrant has made our generation understand that to choose one's government is not necessarily to secure freedom" - Hayek
Dreadful no-call there
But not the worst I’ve seen in the tournament. Not the worst that Butler got away with today, for that matter.
I Agree
The W of next game is NCAA champ, likely.

Hey as far
as I am concerned the game last Saturday night………I think that the WVA/KY was the NC game :)
maybe so,
but losing in the NC championship game and losing in the sweet sixteen is still losing…. ; )
losing sucks.
losing sucks some serious a** and I’m really not that good at it. But, if Huggins and his boys can somehow find a way to put a serious hurt on the Devils, you know, a “no mercy” kind of thing? — well, that would help ease the pain of losing a bit. It won’t help you as I see that your son is a Duke fan (how did that happen, exactly??) but it will certainly help me…. : )
totally
agree! I think he became a fan when he was about four years old and his Daddy told him how much I hated Duke. So he started liking them. Now its a full blown passion just my love for UK. I try not to get too upset because my momma was a Tennessee girl and let me love my Cats :)
Determining When Izzo Called To
Didn’t matter. MSU couldn’t pull a UK vs other MSU. Brad Stevens is gonna be a rich man soon — a hot property.

I was watching that, thinking, “I have never in my life, seen a coach straddle a player, and stroke his face while they were basically nose to nose.” I mean, I know emotions are running high and all, but I thought they were going to start making out. Well, that was a depressing ending to the night. I don’t know what it sounded like on tv, but as Duke pulled away, Lucas Oil stadium became a morgue.
Watching this final four is horrible as I keep thinking that the Cats could have beaten all of these teams if we hadn’t had our worst shooting night of the season last week. Don’t think that I can stand to stay and watch Duke win the title, so we will probably look to sell out tickets.

OMG,

If I may say something, let me say, you are already there, don’t sell. I mean, leave the NC game early if you have to, but don’t sell. You might very well miss an incredible game in which the Dookies fall?
But, then again, if you encounter fans like I encountered when I was in Houston for the South Regional, and considering you will be witnessing the NC game, no less, you may very well end up in prison. You are a lawyer though, right?? Yeah, that would help… ; )
yes,
we had a really good time, thanks for asking. : )
Seeing Duke win 2 games wasn’t all that fabulous (your son would be soo jealous, I got lots and lots of pictures ; )), but we did meet up with family (my sister-in-law currently lives in Houston and my mother and stepfather drove down from San Antonio to meet us) and we did do some site-seeing and random partying in addition to the tourney games so it was a very worthwhile trip. We have applied (apparently, and I didn’t know this, but if you want to get seats to the FF early, you have to “apply”) for tickets for next year’s FF in Houston. : )
Cool!
and yes he would be jealous! Although right now I would like to kick his little tail! :)……..that sounds like fun! I thought about applying for the final four this year……..parents live in Beaumont so I would have to not worry about hotel but the likelihood of getting tickets probably isn’t too good :)
Glad you had
a great time by the way :)…….I think if we moved anywhere, Houston would be where I would want to be!
Think all sign off
