Around SBN: Dog Football! Which Breeds Are Best Suited For The Gridiron?

Looks like two players UK fans were counting on coming back next season may very well be playing for pay next season.

That's interesting.

I just took a quick glance at the NBADraft.net site and it appears as though Eric has moved up to the number 12 lotto pick! That surprises me a bit, but considering that the NBA is likely his dream, I am happy that he has risen up the ranks of draft boards and that he is thought of in such high regard. I still didn’t see Orton on the list (I could have missed it) but, according to Jerry’s article it seems as though he is getting info that suggests otherwise.

If I’m not mistaken, only first round money is guaranteed, right? So, would it be safe to assume that if Daniel did somehow not make the first round, which is 30 players, he would be returning?

It’ll be interesting to watch, that’s for sure. Right now, it’s hard to believe that the possibility of having almost our entire roster depleted (whether to graduation or NBA) is a reality. Wow.

By this:

do you mean if he’s not projected to make the first round? Because if he enters the draft, and doesn’t make the first draft, or even either round, he would no longer have college eligibility.

yes, exactly.

I meant projected to go in the first round, because as you point out, there is no going back once you have declared. : )

I’m not entirely sure how this all works, but I assume that Orton (and others like him who are considering the jump to the NBA) would sit down with Coach Cal after the season is over and Cal will advise him what the scouts, GM’s and the like are saying about his draft status and Daniel would then make an informed decision from there, and if he isn’t thought to go in the top 30 (the guaranteed money cut off point), and if money is his main motivation, as he mentioned in the linked article that it was, he would return.

college bball is a game of emotions...

all this lottery talk is clearly a high point. given the ebb and flow, i hope we get 4 more games in before the other side shows up…

only one rule in my house - uk has to be your favorite college bball team
