Patrick Will Get His Due

Now that unofficial reports (thank you Larry Vaught) have surfaced about the Patrick Patterson situation, and how it will be handled, it appears as though we can finally put this issue to bed and forget about what's the best thing to do. I know this brought out some very divided opinions, but I honestly feel like UK did the right thing here.

Star-divide

Patrick will long be remembered as the ideal kind of recruit for this University and its fans. I hope we can all rally around him now and appreciate him for his accomplishments, his character, and his dedication to The University of Kentucky and the Big Blue Nation. Patrick, you are one of a kind, and we are a better place for your being here. Congratulations and best wishes for all of the success in the NBA and life as you can get. We are better for having known you.

Now go get #8, and don't take any prisoners!!!!

John Clay and Larry Vaught are good enough sources for me to say it's done....

KSR is also quoting from Vaught, but it reads like it was a foregone conclusion….

So the answer to my question is "No."

That’s all I wanted to know. Larry Vaught is the only source, not John, since Clay was quoting him. But yes, Larry is certainly a good source.

I don't agree with it.

But no, no trouble. Patterson is one of my all-time favorites.

Right

move for the university. I am glad they decided to do. I think that all in BBN regardless of the feelings towards this subject will be glad to appreciate PPat on senior day.

I can’t help but think your 372 comment post helped shine some light on this noble cause.

Didn't Mercer get recognized at Senior Day in 97?

I thought I specifically remember Pitino having a press conference where he talked about telling Mercer to announce early so they could go on and win a title and recognize him along the way and not deal with questions.

I also thought I remembered Pitino giving him some blue shorts he could wear under his NBA shorts. (Think I even remember RP saying that Jordan always wore Carolina blue shorts under his Bulls uniform.)

Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."

I'm glad they are doing SOMETHING

So I’m guessing the official announcement of him declaring for the draft is to follow? Is he going to forgo hiring an agent?
