Wooo Hooo!
I love this time of year and I am having a blast watching all these games!! Yesterday was an exciting start to the tourney! Cant wait to see what happens today!!
I totally love that ncaa.com is showing all the games online for free!!!
It is not worth an intelligent man’s time to be in the majority. By definition, there are already enough people to do that.

I only wish
my proxy at work would allow ncaa.com. I have to rely on ASOB and game casts to keep up with the action!
Yes
I am very fortunate to have such a laid back and understanding boss. “It’s a way of life here,” is what I told him. :)

I have the laptop...just not the wireless feed
Oh well, i guess following the gamecase will have to do.
A lot is blocked at my work
but running Firefox portable off of a thumb drive seems to bypass everything. At least it has so far.

I LUV THA PARITY
Yeah man, don’t ya luv the parity in college basketball today…. wow, all the double digit seeds winning in the first round….damn, the last time I heard anyone in KY talking about parity was in 2005. 6.7 and it was Tubby/Donna doin the talking… guess it won’t be long now before he’ll be doin it again…. except, this time he’ll be at Auburn…. hold on a minute, doesn’t Auburn have a nepotism rule? Please tell me he’s not taking the Auburn job!!! NO MO parity at KY!!!! GO BIG BLUE!!!!!!
any body hear anything on orton?
i know a broke/bruised tail bone is not serious but it can be painful and take a long time to heal. hope it is not an issue….

Orton tweeted that he had hurt his lower back and that it was sore but nothing serious and that he should be ready to go on Saturday.
Also he apologized for his use of language and said that he would “pray about it.” Hahaha! Love that kid!!!!

forgot that
That guy has gone through a bunch in his life so far.
"Come test me every day if you want," says Pujols, "Everything I ever made in this game I would give back to the Cardinals if I got caught."
Orton cracks me up. The way he can swat the ball away in
a big-time block one second and then seem to change instantly back into a sweet-looking boy.
Watch him next time as he lands on his feet after a block.
It’s like he can be tough when he has to, but then instantly reverts back into this soul-deep niceness.
He looked great in yesterday’s game. Like everything had just clicked into place for him in an instant. Catch the ball, put it in the basket. Easy as can be.
And I still can't believe sweet Daniel got sent to the
locker room in the SEC champ. game! I’m still LOL about that.
Daniel? Surely not that big sweetheart, Daniel.
and is it just me or does he have a "sweet" expression on his face most
of the time?
You can't fix "stupid"!
so far every team in this tournament has shown weakness......'cept us....makes me nervous

always nice to get your early scare out of the way earlier when the competition is less and it is easier to overcome poor play..

here is my take...
the only “weakness” anyone has for UK is inexperience. i know 3 pt shooting or FT shooting or rebounding or TOs can rear their ugly head from time to time, but they do not consistently rear their head or we would have lost more than 2 games.
some said that there is a difference in youth and inexperience – that they are NOT the same. we are young, but i do believe we are battle tested.
i would also argue the team chemistry (and talent) trump youth…
i know its easy to bask in the win yesterday – which showed nothing except that we were ready to play our first game – but am beginning to worry less and less about the age thing…

I think you are right.....I just dont do anything to tempt the fates this time of year......
I may not change underwear until April….hehehe
I AM THE CAT......The Cat In The Hat!!!
Youth is different that it used to be.
Basketball players today (1) don’t play other sports in high school; (2) play hundreds of officated games and tournaments against top competition in AAU; (3) have specialized coaching and training. Frankly, today’s freshmen just aren’t the same freshman of 12 years ago and even more different than 20+ years ago.
Experience is nice. But several teams have already proven you can get to the finals and even win NCAA championships relying upon freshmen.
agree...
would also add that the innocence of youth (ie no fear) might actually be an advantage if talented…

While not really a Colin Cowherd fan ...
The games aren’t being carried on radio locally so sports center is the only way for me to get updates …. He said 4.5 million people filled out tournament bracket sheets and Dickie V was in 4 millionth position while Colin himself was in like 1 millionth position.
I’m with Dickie V – he picked us to win it all …. Colin is the Anti-March Madness guy.. I think mostly because his show got yanked in some markets where the choice was to air the tourament on the radio.
Xavier winning means yet another L for me.....

I got that one right.
When was Tubby last in the second round of the tourney? Was that the year we lost to UAB with a 1 seed?
I suppose I could look it up. I hear this with this new internet thing you can find out anything.
It was 2007

That's right.
I think Tubby bowed out his last 3 years in the second round at UK (UAB, UConn, KU).
Funny.
I was trying to keep with the trend.

Tubby/Minn bowed out to Xavier.
Now he can publically accept a job elsewhere that he has been negotiating for weeks — well before the season of the team he was supposed to be coaching ended.
Hmmm … sounds familiar.
this certainly sounds familar
Tubby wins 20 games but fails in the tourny. Maybe the most overrated active coach. Good yes, ceratinly not elite.

AUBURN ANYBODY?
The new job has to say… “No to snow… Yes to nepotism…. and yes to parity” and you must accept being a plow horse in a horse race…. (big and slow)… looks like he’s been cheatin’ in this marriage game again!!
Cornell wins!
So we likely play Cornell or Wisconsin. Don’t really want to see Wisconsin.
Former UK player scores 4 and gets 2 boards in win.

Almost as much as my bracket, actually. sigh
Cornell or Wisconsin
Assuming we get past Wake, we will DESTROY either one of those teams.
It's time. . .

Big 12 is now 4-1 with OSU yet to play. Is Clemson an underachiever or what?

Had GTown in the Elite 8, Marq in the Sweet 16.
Can anyone explain how GTown gets schwacked by Ohio?? KenPom had GTown as #11 in nation, Ohio 100+. Guess that’s why they play, huh??

GTown has 7 losses this year, 5 of ‘em to teams that made the Tourney… Don’t think they are as bad as their W-L reflects but man, they got taken to the shed last night!

So far ...
… I have not lost any Elite Eight teams. But I have lost 3 sweet sixteen teams.
A Sea of Blue -- Kentucky Sports for the Discerning Fan
Lost 1 EE and 1 SS...
Rest of ‘em are only going to a games worth… Like St Mary’s; how did they win when they hadn’t won an NCAA game since ‘59?? At least my losers won’t go any farther, I think????
If your wings don't sweep....
Just joining in
Missed most of today’s game but it didn’t look like they were as close as yesterday’s.
I’ve caught most of tonite’s except local station kept Duke/UAPB on until 30 seconds to go. Did they think there was going to be some miracle comeback? Been watching L’ville trying to play like a team since then. Ugly. And yes, bracket will take yet another hit.
Louisville is getting ready to get their hat handed to them......

UL’s guards have stunk up the gym so far… Sosa’s 3 fouls probably don’t help!

First was a charge too
Then second foul was quickly following. There was less than 3 minutes gone in the game.

A lot of
people on here celebrated when Wake beat Texas. Just remember to be careful what you wish for because you just might get it. I think Wake is a far more dangerous matchup for us than Texas. Their guard Smith is a Devan Downey with a supporting cast. McFarland is a dirty cheap shot player who excels at agitating opposing big men. We better hope that Orten can play well because Cuz might be riding the bench a lot in this game. I think we will win but this one could be tough.
I’ve justified my rooting for L’ville because its strictly for selfish purposes, absolutely nothing to do with liking them. Does that get a pass?
As long as you root for the earthquake when they play Duke.
