UK vs. KU
Throughout this whole season, I have had to listen to more commentary about KU basketball than probably our Kentucky boys, since I live in Kansas City. My father-in-law and brother-in-law are KU fans, some of my friends are KU fans, and I work at a high school in Kansas City, so I see a lot of fans everyday who live, breathe, and sleep KU. This is all well and good from a geographical standpoint, but needless to say, I have been drawing comparisons upon comparisons between these two teams since the beginning of this season.
This is what I've gathered from my over-generalized perspective...(trying to stay unbiased as well):
1) I have not been impressed with them as much as the media. (By the way, they had to go into OT last night against COLORADO!!!)
2) I really like Xavier Henry as a play-maker (I wish he would've came to Kentucky)
3) Cole Aldrich has dragged his feet for most of the season and I've heard KU fans complain about his offensive efficiency, although he is now starting to pick it up
4) Sherron Collins is a clutch player when he needs to be and he talks like Michael Beasley :)
5) Bill Self almost always has a smirk on his face
6) The Morris twins look more like each other than any other twins I have ever seen. Do they even have the same tattoos?
7) On a serious note...the only thing KU has more of than Kentucky is experience.
Would Kentucky have enough talent to beat KU's experience if they met in the tournament? Your thoughts...

If we nix the turnovers, we can beat anyone on pure talent
But part of being experienced like KU is that you know how to force young teams into turnovers. That being said, we aren’t going to put up the kinds of huge runs against a team like KU.

And along with our "pure talent"
I know UK has shown more poise in pressure situations than many other “experienced” teams thus far in the season. But then again, we’re talking about March…

UK Wins By 5
I think the Cats are more talented.
I was honestly thinking 8-10 pts.......assuming no one goes into the tank and has a terrible game
against Kansas…..everyone on top of their game, Kansas gets tired late in the 2nd half
Remember, we're having fun now!!!
Great point, ABC.
Our nine or ten maybe 11 in the right situation)-man rotation is very probably the best in the country. In the six through eight spots, we’d have people who can score and the nine and ten would be a defensive stopper (without much offense) and either a decent rebounder or a guy with a great outside shot (but little defense, ‘cause he’s slow). In my mind, it’s a pretty good arsenal to draw from. And all of them except the 10/11 guy can get up and down the floor pretty well.
To use it well, though, we’d have to avoid the “walk into the half-court offense” type of game and keep the ball and the defense moving.

I think utilizing a full-court press on Collins and Morningstar would hopefully force some turnovers once we’ve created an up-tempo style of game. They run pretty well, but I think we’ve got them beat with speed in Wall and Bledsoe as well as our big men running the court. DeMarcus is 10 times quicker than Aldrich and Patterson can beat the Morris twins any day of the week. The only KU player that would cause a threat in transition would be Xavier Henry.

Agree ... we have the talent
Neutral floor and we win by five … at KU they they have the advantage, at UK we do.
Not too impressed with Morningstar last night in the Colorado game (part of where we are deeper) and for Pete’s sake would someone please explain to me how that Cole Aldridge free throw finds the net??? Got to be the ugliest motion since Shaq.
I wouldn't trade either one of our freshmen guards
for Xavier Henry not would I trade Cuz for Aldrich.
I'm with you "Ripple"...
I’ve been saying to my brother for awhile that “X” (as Brent Musberger seems determined to keep calling him) isn’t as explosive or talented as JW. And would he have made that pass that Bledsoe made to PPat in the Ole Miss game? Doubtful.
We're all just a banana peel away from eternity.

But you don't have to be explosive
to be a game changer. I feel that Xavier vs Wall have different playing styles, and yes, I agree that Wall has the more explosive energy behind him, but I believe Xavier has shown the ability to make plays when it matters just like Wall has. That could be significant threat at anytime during the game.

That's good cause
I don’t think anyone in their right mind (including Calapari) would trade any of the talent we have this year :)
