Even last year, Rupp was never THIS empty

This picture comes from North Carolina's loss to FSU last week.  Check out  the time left in the game and all the empty seats in the stands.

It basically confirms everything I've always thought about UNC fans.  They like to talk big when they're winning and act like they are the only True Blue team in college basketball ... but when times are tough, they show their true colors to be a much more pale shade of blue.  I would be embarassed to call myself a fan of that program.  Sure, Rupp's crowd got a little quiet at times in recent years (other than the times when they would boo their own players... heh) but never did you see a crowd walk out with less than 5 minutes gone in the second half.

Shameful.

Errrr....

Allow me to make a minor correction… that’s not 5 minutes gone in the second half. That’s 5 minutes into the game and no one has showed up to watch the team play.

Even worse.

Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."

Wonder how many times recruits will be shown that picture? Wonder if the

empty seats are people Roy kicked out for saying something bad about the team?

You can't fix "stupid"!

This season is karma biting Roy in the ass

For kicking that guy out of a game earlier in the year.

I find that hard to believe ...

If I was being recruited to play for UNC – I’d take a note of that one

At UK we can 3 or 4 times that many just to come to College Gameday :)

I did too

And I agree that recruits should take note. Despite the constant fellating given the Tarheels by the national media, their fans are actually nothing more than front runners.

Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."

I have to say, I am surprise.

That’s not a pretty picture.

Save that pic

Then send it to anyone who says Carolina has great fans…..

Some say a comet will fall from the sky. Followed by meteor showers and tidal waves.
Followed by faultlines that cannot sit still. Followed by millions of dumbfounded dips**ts.

Maybe we should send an autographed lithograph to

Ol’ Roy, of our 2000th win celebration so he can remember what a packed house feels like…….

Resistence Is Futile......We Are Blue

Pat Forde's column this week discusses arenas across the country.

You can find it here. What I found interesting was this snippet.

Dean Smith Center (20). Who plays there: North Carolina. Opened: 1986. Capacity: 21,750. Some of those cushy blue seats have gone empty during this dismal season. Tar Heels are averaging 18,493 fans per home game.

I don’t mean to keep harping on this, but Kentucky has gone 12 years without a trip to the Final Four or a national title. For the last four years, the program has been lethargic and tough to stomach at times; culminating in last season’s NIT embarassment. What kind of attendance did we see last year? Oh yeah, we lead college basketball in attendance.

I never want to hear another person say that UNC has great fans.

Not sure

I may have met him at a seminar along the way though. Looks like he’s been practicing just a couple years longer than me.
