Billy Gillispie is ready to resume his career
Billy Gillispie began to receive calls and text messages not long after then-No. 1 Kentucky lost its first game of the season at South Carolina three weeks ago. All were in the same context, speculating that Gillispie was snickering that the team from the university that had fired him less than a year ago had tumbled from its perch as the top-ranked team in college basketball. Gillispie was surprised at the perception.
"I'm not like that at all," he said recently. "I'm pulling for them."

I think it's a good read, and the man seems to be working hard to get his life and career on the right track. I applaud his efforts, and wish him the best.

good read
I’m not especially a fan of his—I felt a mix of emotions when he was fired, but mostly relief—but he said all the right things here, and comes off like the likable, good-hearted, self-effacing, dare I say it…tough, country boy he seemed when he was hired here. I’m glad, so very very glad he’s gone, but totally wish him happiness and career success. Clearly he gave the job here his all, it just didn’t work out. There’s no reason for us to wish the guy ill will…we’ve all failed at stuff before, right?

Good words.
Not everyone has to like the guy, to be sure, but he did work his butt off and gave it everything he had. I think also that something changed in him between his first and second season, likely the very problems he’s gotten and continues to seek help for.
Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth.

He was our coach
and didn’t drag us down into any kind of NCAA probational trouble (hrumm Sutton hrumm).
So I will always root for a team he is coaching as long as they aren’t playing Kentucky or called Louisville.

I am ready for him to resume his career as well! ;)
It is not worth an intelligent man’s time to be in the majority. By definition, there are already enough people to do that.

I'm not surprised at all that BCG was pulling for the 'Cats
I hope everything goes really well for the guy.
Blue... there is no other color to Bleed !!!
Its good to get news that BG is doing good...
and I appreciate that he’s routing for us. I can’t wait to see a team of his getting back into some recognition because although he wasn’t a good fit for Kentucky, he will be a good fit somewhere.
I use to love Happy Meals, now I love sushi, but I will always love Kentucky!
