The Big Blue Daily Mail -- Are We Having Fun Yet?
We have a ton today, and I'm going to jump right in:

Terrence Ross, former 5A boys basketball player of the year, is back at Jefferson | Oregon Sports - OregonLive.com
Interesting. I wonder what this means? Probably nothing more than a preference, but we'll have to wait and see. - Kentucky Wildcats better off not relying on Wall's scoring, John Calipari says - ESPN
-
State-Journal.com - Off night, still a "W'
It was so bad that Calipari afterward said that the play of freshman center Daniel Orton was not just fabulous, but "absolutely fabulous" after Orton had three points, three rebounds, one blocked shot and one turnover in 16 minutes. Calipari must have been referring to the fact that Orton was one of the few Kentucky players who appeared at least mildly interested in Tuesday’s challenge.
I don't think this is fair. I think Cousins was not particularly interested, but Orton played well in a number of areas. Orton doesn't have to score big to impact the game. Case in point -- DeAndre Liggins. -

SEC looking much better at midseason than last year " Anderson Independent Mail
Not only will Calipari run away with the SEC’s top honor, he’s likely to be named the national coach of the year.
I'd bet against that. Jim Boeheim is the "politically correct" choice this year, and he is likely to win no matter what happens.

How does that spelling error get through?!? And for a cover photo shoot, no less.
It's time. . .
Jim B.
for sure had coach of the year. Not sure that Syracuse was choosen to do really well this year. Kentucky was. But I don’t know what the criteria is for coach of the year. Sometimes it truly baffles me who gets it.
Guess who is top of the SEC West……ARKANSAS! Way to go John P.
Boeheim is as good as choice as any
I don’t think there is any criteria for COtY except beyond “What makes a great storyline for the season.”
Sometimes its a team that wasn’t expected to do much and then is successful, sometimes it’s a team that was expected to do much and is successful (see UNC last year). Mostly I think it’s about what storyline captures the national zeitgeist for the season.
When it comes to performance vs pre-season expectations I think you can make a strong case for Bo Ryan at Wisconsin and Tony Bennett at Virginia, but neither of them will likely win it.
3 > 2, except for very large values of 2.
Syracuse lost a pre-season exhibition game to a D2 school
To turn things around and give his team a legit slot in the national conversation is truly impressive.
Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."
The Sun Times has the worst college bball coverage of any newspaper I ever read
He must have read that on an ESPN blog.
"all the way"
Around the Horn Topic: Calipari too hard on John Wall
Mariotti says yes because it is public. Not working JW too many mistakes. Try different approach. Mike Smith says no…tough love. Tim Cowlishaw says no. Adande says no.
Taking depositions from the NCAA
The Charles O’Bannon article truly is groundbreaking.
The O’Bannon case is not expected to be ruled on any time soon – and appeals would likely occur regardless of the decision. However, the opportunity for lawyers to depose college sports executives and subpoena financial records, contracts and business arrangements with third parties makes this a historic day.
I want to know how much leeway this legal firm is going to have. Who can they depose? Will it be limited to the financial side? Could they get into enforcement?
I’d love to see them go on a fishing expedition that opens up the doors of enforcement. Maybe they could use the financial arguments as a reason to investigate payments to Corey Maggette and expose why Duke has never been thoroughly investigated.
A subpoena and a deposition can be a remakable way to get information that is only linked by the most tenuous of threads. Where’s Ken Starr when you need him?!!?
Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."
PS I hate the new uniforms
I liked ours. They felt unique. I’ve not seen any other teams wearing similar.
Already wearing the LB23 line of uniforms are Syracuse, UConn, Texas, Duke, Florida, Ohio State, and many others.
Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."
Seth Davis...
is a smuck. But all of you knew that already.
Possible UK Recruit Terrence JONES Also Plays For Portland Jefferson
He and T Ross will be quite a combination for their opponents to defend.

Tru, you made a funny out of my tag line!!!!!.....lol....
I still cannot determine if John Wall scores when he needs to, or passes when he needs to, or both, depending on the rest of the team. I do so appreciate his unwillingness to surrender an L to anyone, and some games he just seems to gut it out, no matter how anyone else is playing. I do know this, this team needs to learn to adjust to players having off nights. They did fine against Bama, for all that I could see, but of course I missed about 11 minutes, as did we all that were not there, but we will get past this, and move on to another victory………23-1……I dont think I could be prouder of this team if it was made up of all my own kids. And they keep showing that will to win…..
Remember, we're having fun now!!!

Saw this on KSR

First time I shot her, shot her in the side.
Hard to watch her suffer, but with the second shot she died...

Um, I can see the photo just fine.
Surely I’m not the only one? Can anyone else see the “pros vs. cons” pic in coop’s post? Hmm….
Oh, and the picture is quite interesting. It’s not very complimentary to UT, but given their recent troubles, it’s fitting, I guess. : )
I am still not even seeing a link, a photo or anything
I didn’t see it yesterday, or today…..Wonder what else I am missing? Time to restart I guess, or restore, or scream….lol :-)
