Good Coach, TERRIBLE Fit At UK
He has demons (alcohol) to conquer, too.

it was refreshing to learn
what caused the dysfunction with the team (aside from alcohol)…i agree with krebs on the fact that you have to treat each kid as an individual. not every kid needs to be instilled with a work ethic, some actually show up with one.
i firmly hope Gillispie gets back on track with his career and life. he has a good heart.

I take something for it.
I could not even stomach this.
Matt Jones looks absolutely ridiculous on tv and his anti-Gillispie personal feelings are totally obvious the way he leads Mark Krebs through this. This interview is crap in my opinion and says way more about Matt Jones than it does about Billy. IMO Matt comes out looking like the loser here. I couldnt even make it three minutes. He looks ridiculous and like an ass.
It is not worth an intelligent man’s time to be in the majority. By definition, there are already enough people to do that.

Haha, I didn't mean it as a bad thing.
I just know you’re the most pro-BCG person I’ve ever known (at least “known” in the Internet sense). I was behind BCG, and remain so. However, every time I see something like this, I back off on that stance.
Granted, Jones treats the interview more like an Inside Edition or Entertainment Tonight gossip piece than a 60 Minutes probe, but Krebs confirms or clarifies some of the stories. Even if you hate Jones, you have to take some stock in Krebs’ words.
Fair enough.
Krebs is a good guy. I get what youre saying about taking stock in his words. I just really couldnt get past Jones and his lovefest for himself to get much else out of it.
P.S. I really didnt take what you said as a bad thing. My “LOL” was sincere in that as soon as I posted, I knew I was gonna get called on my pro-Billy feelings. It was just funny to me. Thats all.

makes no difference to me.
Your mileage may very and all that.

honestly i couldn't see anything
forced about this per se, except that you are correct in that matt has the demeanor of a radio/internet geek. He practically wet himself when he saw his image on the montior yes, but the body of the information Krebs gives (minus the obvious hard ons Krebs and Jones had for one another and their 15 min of “TV” fame), is indicative of a gentleman who was in the right position at the wrong time.
Gillispie had a heart the size of Texas but his demons kept him chained to the doomsday train. With all of the schools out there and his quality of coaching he’ll get another shot. he’ll just have to start from scratch. Luckily he’s got a little scratch with which to pad himself.
As for Jones, he’s got a long life ahead of him on the net. My guess is he’ll be short lived on any kind of TV format. Of course, I live in Arkansas and local programming is a bit different. That kind of stuff may garner some attention in areas around the Commonwealth if he were to regularly score a former player or timely interviews with staff and such. Until he gets rid of the noxious personality with heavy coaching, I feel there will be more people who react like Tink. i.e. the message is lost and validity is not insured.
Krebs is a nice kid. He’s just casting about trying to find his way. Once the UK thing peters out for him he’ll realize that you can only cash that chip so many times and get on with whatever god meant for him to do.

Generally Agree On All 3 Points
Gillispie was a bad fit at UK but may get another chance. His 3rd alcohol incident is a bigger factor (obstacle) than the UK behind-the-scenes stuff.
Matt Jones is sophmoric (sp?). He won’t win any Edward R Murrow awards.
Krebs is fine young man. He’ll be better off to let the UK/Gillispie stuff go and move on.

cbssports.com must really be hurting for bloggers
Im sure they could have done MUCH better than Jones. His head is so big now he is just unbearable.
