A Christmas Reflection: Our Progress Thus Far

Stay connected for news and updates

A note from Ken: kentuckygirl has written an outstanding poem commemorating the 'Cats, so outstanding that it certainly deserves to grace the front page of A Sea of Blue for Christmas.  Thanks kentuckygirl, and a Merry Christmas to you, as well as all of our faithful readers!

This is just a little holiday poem I put together at the request of JLev. I had forgotten how much fun this was for me! I hope you enjoy it. Merry Christmas ASOB! :)

T'was the night before Christmas and we have a new team

Our superstars of last year gone to follow their dream.

Our new season started, we're eleven games in

Only two losses, all the rest have been wins.

This year's team is different, of that there's no doubt.

But each game they are showing what they're all about.

East Tennessee State would become our first victim

And by twenty-three points, we beat them with dictum.

Portland was next, our Cats hit the road

A thirty-one point thrashing to them we bestowed.

From there onto Maui, the surf and the sun

Oklahoma is up and goes down in game one.

Maui round two and Washington's next

The Terrance Jones saga made this game complex.

The Dawgs wanted vengeance, their fans caused a fuss

But the final score showed why Terrance chose us.

Maui, the finals, again versus Dogs

But these UConn Huskies left US in the fog.

We took our first loss and then headed home

Where we ran through poor Boston like a machine made of chrome.

Chapel Hill was a close one, but our Cats were edged out.

A hard loss to swallow, of that there's no doubt.

This game showed some weakness - no center, thin bench

Had to trounce Indiana just to remove the stench.

Sean Woods came to town and Cal got himself tossed

But 85-60, the Delta Devils lost.

We ran straight through Winthrop, Coppin State is on deck

Then New Year's Eve brings our pain in the neck.

We face the Dirty Cards in their shiny new bucket

Anything with two legs Rick Pitino will... ANYWAY

Our new team up and running and our future looks bright

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
