What the Hell happened to the Pac10?

Just a couple years ago, UCLA and Arizona were putting together top notch classes while the rest of the league was solid. It is nice to see the SEC on the upswing though.

Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."

I believe around the same time frame as Steve Lavin leaving UCLA under duress many big named players went east for some reason. Some of it was the success ot the SEC, Big East, Big Ten, Big Twelve, ACC, etc. winning and winning and winning. The HS players saw this and wanted to be a part of it.

In spite of UK having two mediocre years under BG, look how kids started flocking to Lexington. A great coach for a great program will do it every time.

Yeah ...

… the Pac-10 has really kind of withered lately, particularly UCLA. I think the style of play in Westwood has taken their recruiting down a notch.

I dont disagree...

But it was just as recent as 2 or 3 years ago that Howland had the number 1 recruiting class there.

Per RSCI Consensus "Winners"

UCLA had either 12th or 13th best recruiting class in 2006-07-08-09-10 (5 straight years).

Exposure

I believe that all the top grade kids, ones and done and others, want the TV and media exposure that is more widely available in the midwest and eastern markets.

Homecoming For Jones ... And BTW

There’s also a game. Terrence Jones gets to show what he’s learned to his family.

Yes. Fri. night at Portland. This looks like a real good site. I’m saving it in my bookmarks.

I like that site

Have you explored the “preview” tabs that are on each game? I did a few and they have a who will win vote button for each game. Right now UK is favored over UNC by 80% of the voters. Love them Big Blue followers.

Goofy looking url but it does work.

If you want to try ...

… You can use the blog to link to a destination, like this

All you have to do is when you are typing your post, copy the URL you want to link to your clipboard, then select the word you want to act as the link (like “this” above), and press the little chain-looking icon just to the left the little tree icon just below the subject line in your reply.

That will bring up a dialog box. Paste your link in there, check the little checkbox that says “open in new window,” and voila!

Give it a try sometime. It will help you get rid of those goofy looking URL’s and make your comment look cleaner. :-)

I must have missed it

I didn’t know that Patrick was assigned to the “D” league. Hope he gets thru it all and shows the Rockets what he’s made of.

I read that it's more of a logjam at his position

than his lack of development or talent. I believe the owner or GM said that.

by mrmondaynite on Nov 18, 2010 2:16 PM EST up reply actions

Heard that too

Also read around draft time that the Rockets prioritized the players in the draft, and Patterson was sixth on their list. They got him with the fourteenth pick and were elated. I think they may have thought he was a good insurance policy if Yao went down for an extended period again, but I think he will eventually work his way back up to the big league team and make some contributions.
