Urban caught with his pants down

endorsing?

I don’t think any UK fan would be so crazy as to recommend or approve of Thamel’s stories.

not even if he brought a note to school from his momma saying he was abused as a child and

has some very out of whack morals as a result.

Could this be the same person?

Thamel’s rumored source of the Bledsoe transcript leaks was also UF.

I was always under the impression that it was Richard Pitino who leaked those

Doing double duty to distract from his dad’s pending legal fiasco and bolster his current team.

Gottlieb talked about this on his radio show last night

He compared it with his situation at Notre Dame when he was caught stealing credit cards. He said that people with the athletic department came to him and told him he would transfer and they would put out that he was feeling homesick. Nothing would ever be said about the theft.

He said it stayed like that until the following season when Notre Dame basketball was on the skids. Stories started coming out that there was trouble in the program and started questioning why guys like him would leave the program.

He said that’s when the story broke. He said he doesn’t believe the school did it, he thinks some of the other students on the periphery that didn’t want to hear their coach getting slammed were the ones to break the story.

He then compared the Cam Newton case. He quietly leaves school and everyone assumes its because he wants to play and the Tebow express is obviously in his way. Two years later he resurfaces at an SEC rival and is touted as the best player in the country. Simultaneously, Urban Meyer starts getting heat for a dysfunctional offense run by John Brantley instead of having Cam Newton.

Gottlieb went on to essentially say that he believed it was someone obliquely involved in the program trying to defend the team and not the school itself.

It has the ring of truth to me.

As we saw with Eric Bledsoe last summer though, kids make mistakes and try to correct them. If he was caught up in cheating and has since corrected his ways, then shame on those trying to commit character assassination.

However, the request for money could be an entirely different bird. I’m a little slower to judge than I had been now that Kentucky was caught in the crossfires this summer with the Davis recruitment. I’ll wait for more to come out. The MSU recruiting guys talking about it recently are certainly more damning than the “I heard from a guy, who knows a guy…” that initially hit early in the week.

Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."

Being "a little slower to judge" is an admirable trait. Here and elsewhere in life.

Let’s discover the facts first. Then we can talk about judging.
.

President Merkin Muffley: General Turgidson, I find this very difficult to understand. I was under the impression that I was the only one in authority to order the use of nuclear weapons.
General “Buck” Turgidson: That’s right, sir, you are the only person authorized to do so. And although I, uh, hate to judge before all the facts are in, it’s beginning to look like, uh, General Ripper exceeded his authority.

Hrmmm... was going to link the mrsec article on another message board

But it seems to no longer be working for me…

With all the (alleged) whistle blowing at Florida

their entire coaching staffs in both football and basketball could move to Knoxville. They’d fit right in at a school that would hire Fulmer and Pearl. In all fairness, though, I want some real facts before I remove the word alleged.

I'm sick of this

Nowadays the rumor mill seems to never stop. There’s always somebody out there with an axe to grind. This is bringing college athletics down to the pathetic level of professional sports. It’s sad. We’re losing the joy of competition just for the sake of competition.
