Help me quantify what Cobb means to UK football.

Saturday was just the latest game where Randall Cobb took over a game, gave us a show and made the team competitive. Yes, its a team sport and there were several contributors on both sides of the ball but the cleated highlight reel continues to amaze.

I got to wondering just how much on the field impact he has had over the past two and a half years but was immediately limited by my cloudy memory. I'd like to know which games you think Cobb has been the deciding factor in either determining the outcome or in making the game competitive. To start with I'll throw out one in each category. First, we have last weekend's game with Auburn; not a victory but he has to figure in on making the game competitive. The defensive stops very likely would have been for naught without Cobb's offensive heroics. In the latter category I'll go with the '08 Arkansas game. Without Cobb, this would have been chalked up as a loss.

Help me recall some other games where the man was THE MAN.

Isn't this sort of like asking me to choose between my kids? '-)

I know it isn’t on the field like you meant, but I think it is his wanting UK to be the best. He is always pumping up the other players and the fans.

Sorry,

I’m an engineer. ;-)

(but, we already know Cobb is quality.)

at the risk of using a religious analogy here.....

you have seen the phrase No Jesus, No Peace
                                                Know Jesus, Know Peace

On church reader boards throughout the south?

No Cobb, No Team
Know Cobb, Know Team

Does that work?

So, Greg

What do you think our record would be the last 2 1/2 years without Cobb?

I would say at least 4 direct L's

He has at times impacted games so directly and so profoundly that we may not have bowled the last 2 times with a few loses each year.

That is just talking of his personal impact on plays where he affected the final score to our favor.

The intangible of how his attitude and leadership affects the team is an unknown but if Cobb is ever on the down and outs and Brooks is invested in even a hot dog stand he owes him a job!

Changing how you think will change what you think.

1/2 as many wins......

What I felt too

but I wanted to be conservative and give the rest of the cast some credit.

Serious about Brooks owing him. Cobb is Brook’s Mashburn.

Rick took care of Mash and they are still partners in a great many ventures.

And I bet

Cobb will be as revered as anyone in Kentucky football in a long, long time.

If he isn't, then we really do need to be just a basketball school.

Wow!

Does the South Carolina game qualify as a Cobb game?
