Let's Get Some Perspective
The last few days have been rather heady for the Big Blue Nation, considering our lot in life the last few seasons. All of this hoopla considering the #1 ranking, undefeated season, Player of the Year, Freshmen of the Year, Wooden award finalists, the SEC and their weak status, has left me in a bit of a fog, albeit a good one. So, it is time to get some perspective on who and what we really are. I have spent the last 20 minutes compiling all of this data, and developing a scientific model to explain why and how this all came about, and where it leads to. Follow me after the jump and I will be glad to explain it all in plain english.
Now, If one postulates concerning the given variables in any season, one must allow for various events which may or may not effect the outcome of a college basketball game, or even an entire season. My formula takes into account the following variables.
The team's location, name,historical significance, pride, character, talent level,coaching,draft status,weather,game start time,poll position,attitude,school colors,mascot, won-loss record,media scrutiny,ability to overcome said scrutiny,decision making skills,and above all destiny.
Based upon those factors, I believe I can predict the outcome of the rest of the season with some degree of accuracy.
First, the individual accolades- National P.O.Y.-John Wall ( we have not yet seen John Wall's complete game)
National F.O.Y-Demarcus Cousins( gloves are coming off very soon)
SEC P.O.Y.-Pattrick Patterson (coach is getting ready to unleash him as well)
SEC F.O.Y-Eric Bledsoe(he already has this sewn up, a little polish to be added)
Wooden Award Winner- John Wall ( nuff said)
Coach of the Year (SEC and National)-John Calipari
Comeback P.O.Y (SEC)-DeAndre Liggins
The other individual awards, such as the ESPY's, Tournament MVP's, etc. were not tabulated for the purposes of this scientific study, because, frankly there will be too dang many of them.
Now for the team awards- SEC Regular Season Champion-Kentucky
SEC Tournament Champion-Kentucky
NCAA Tournament Overall #1 Seed-Kentucky
NCAA Tournament Champion- Kentucky
National Championship and Undefeated Season- Kentucky
Any other information would be useless as it has no bearing on this discussion. Individuals NOT consulted for this study include, Seth Davis, Tim Brando, Bobby Knight, Andy Katz, Pat Forde, John Goodman, Ken Pomeroy, Jeff Sagarin, anyone associated with the RPI, and of course Jerry Tipton.
