The Big Blue Daily Mail -- The BBDM Returns!

I know that the Big Blue Daily Mail has been on hiatus for a while, and it was unavoidable due to a big project I have been working on all summer.  But not that the project is winding down, the Big Blue Daily Mail is making a glorious return to A Sea of Blue.  I will be in Las Vegas over the next few days, but I am confident that I can handle the Sin City and this blog all at the same time, no sweat.

  Interesting comments from John Calipari's high school coach, who says that angering Calipari is not a good idea. And once more, we hear the virtually never-mentioned fact that it was Calipari who reported Marcus Camby's rulebreaking to the NCAA.

• Wildcats not sure what Miami has planned
  Wow. Lots of Miami's coaches have been out of the game for a while. Brooks & Co. are not sure what to expect.

• Memphis formally notifies NCAA it will appeal basketball penalty
  I think Memphis has a good shot at winning it's appeal. I think it is pretty clear the NCAA abused its discretion. As to the ultimate result, though, I think it will only gain them seven games, if I read the infraction committee's report correctly.

  This is quite a battle shaping up for Teague. Looks to me like Pitino is trying to replay the Simeon Mars/Jamaal Magloire strategy.

• Louisville Cardinals could be after Marquis Teague through Teague's former high school assistant coach - ESPN
  I'm not singling out Andy Katz here, but the whole Milt/DeJuan Wagner situation has been cited for years as evidence of Calipari being a coach who is willing to go right to the line of cheating. When Pitino does the same thing for the second time, the reaction is, "Well, everybody does it." I can't wait to see what happens if Louisville actually lands Teague.
