The Big Blue Daily Mail -- Wildcat Basketball Recruiting Edition
Why are we talking basketball recruiting in the middle of football season? Well, because that's where the news is. I don't make the news, I just report it. We do have UK-Florida links as well, but basketball recruiting is heating up for UK, and we all know that basketball pays the bills around here, so ...
Anyway, the intro will be short to keep Ken's great work visible. The news follows the jump.

Brooks
I didn’t like how he blamed the players for not paying attention to him. The play calling and clock management, both the fault of the coach, were pathetic at the end of the first half. Quit passing the buck! Our play calling and clock management have been a bit off for the past two seasons, that can’t be all the player’s fault.
We’re excited to hear about bball news because being at Saturday’s football game painfully reminded me that we’re still light years away from being significant in the pigskin. The best chance we had was two years ago, and we squandered it after losing to LSU, again, I fault the coaching.
But Saturday we obviously had more talent than Louisville, which is good. But our skill positions just aren’t talented enough to compete with top schools on a regular basis.
To me
Clock management is the fault of the coaches and the QB. It is the coaches responsibility to make the proper call based on clock and situation. It is the QBs responsibility to make the proper decisions based on the call, clock, and situation.
First time I shot her, shot her in the side.
Hard to watch her suffer, but with the second shot she died...
And on any given Saturday.....
we could pull off the Bluegrass Miracle Part Deux……lol
Remember, we're having fun now!!!
What do you think is going on with Sypher Tru?
Just curious…..I could understand the defense wanting a psych eval…..but the prosecution?? Are they trying to get out of a court date?? Avoid prosecution by doing a plea deal?? Or do you think she is not that crazy??
Kansas needs to be careful…..we had team turmoil a few years back, and it wasnt pretty….but at least we werent fighting with the football team…….or were we??
I still think it is in LCC’s best interests to give Cal the membership and let him do a promo or something to pay for it….maybe lend his name to a golf tournament or something….this petty nonsense needs to be dealt with and move on.
I really do hate we didnt get that Bryant kid……he was the type of recruit we need to get to the next level….
Remember, we're having fun now!!!
Hey ABC
I bet the Sypher/Pitino thing is related to the Billy G/DUI/UK Settlement case somehow! ;)
It is not worth an intelligent man’s time to be in the majority. By definition, there are already enough people to do that.

I don't know about Sypher.
I suppose they are trying to forestall the possibility of a diminished capacity defense or something. I’m not sure what their angle is.
Kansas — They issued a statement yesterday (the athletes involved) that all was good and it was just a misunderstanding. Still hurts their image a bit, though, but nothing major.
I wish Cal would just pony up the 30K and donate the 30K the school gave him to help endow a scholarship or something. People get annoyed when a coach getting as much money as Cal also gets an expensive perk in addition. I know it is common practice, but it really does look bad.
On Bryant — yeah, tough miss, that one.

Bluegrass miracle
Yeah, but you need some consistency if you’re going to recruit in the SEC. We’re better, but the league is much better than it was a decade ago. So basically, we’re in the same boat as ten years ago, they’re are just a few more bowl games and wins up for grabs.
Yeah ...
… maybe we are a little bit ahead, but not that much. We still get predominantly 3* talent while most of the rest of the league gets 4* and above. Brooks is good at developing players, but you show me two teams of roughly equal coaching ability, one averaging 3* and the other averaging 4* talent, and I’ll show you a winner and a loser in the long run.
That’s just the way it is.

And the world begins to spin anew.....
let’s see what landing this recruit starts.
