Good Lord........
what a bunch of whining that was! What did he think the press was going to do after he admitted to nabbin the red snapper special at Porcini’s?
Absolutely
It is not worth an intelligent man’s time to be in the majority. By definition, there are already enough people to do that.

Watching RP coach for so many years... most folks believe a future Hall of Famer-master tactician...
Poor decision today. Needs man up and to take his well deserved lumps from his wife.
Question
Who were the people that he was “standing up for?” I forget his exact words, but it made it sound like he was standing up for a lot of people who had passed away and couldnt stand up for themselves. ????

wait! huh? What's going on...
Pitino had another press conference? Today? What did he say? Did he mention 9-11 again, or terrorists crashing into his tower ?
Did he explain in any way that will satisfy Tink and me about the driver in the room, napping on the floor?
No terrorists...
But he did rail against the media who would have the gall to cover the release of the Karen Sypher police interview tapes on the very day that Ted Kennedy died.
The nerve of them!!!
Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."
is there a link?
How dare the media discuss anything today but the passing of Senator Kennedy!
So what’s in these interview tapes????

I followed the "live blog" on Card Chronicle
I didn’t see the video… but they were pretty much stunned. Apparently, his rage was unleashed and they compared it to his “Larry Bird isn’t walking through that door” rant.

"Larry Bird isn’t walking through that door"
I must have missed out on this rant. It has been referenced several times and I have not a clue what it is about.

The Larry Bird quote
is from a press conference Pitino had while he was head coach at Boston….team was struggling and Pitino said to the press corps, “Larry Bird is not walking through that door. Kevin McHale is not walking through that door. Robert Parrish is not walking throguht that door.” something to that effect, trying to tell the Boston fans he was fed up with them too….they had been calling for his head….
Remember, we're having fun now!!!
Ah.
Thanks!

Ask and ye shall receive Tink. ;-)

LOL!
Thanks!
By the way, this presser was WAY worse than that one – IMO! ;)

I think he should have just kept quiet again.
He is just stirring the media frenzy again by this presser.
I guarantee he heard that from everyone he knew
from about 3:15 on today, and is probably still hearing it
Remember, we're having fun now!!!
Tell me this did not happen
on the day that Louisville is named as the “Most Obscene City In America”……?
Remember, we're having fun now!!!
WTF?
I made a small comment about the press conference earlier, but I was at work and didn’t pay it much mind. Now I have listened to it again and am absolutely baffled!
He made a comment about standing up for people who had passed away and couldn’t stand up for themselves…………WTF does have to do with this at all?
Another comment that really got me was the about how bothered he was about “she who must not be named” having to get a psychological evaluation because he needs the trial to be over so the “truth” will come out. Gee Rick, I think the truth already came out pretty well from your own mouth and now you’re pissed because the press picked it up and ran with it. What exactly did you expect?
Then he had the audacity to say something along the lines of “let’s move on to more important things like the economy and of course…………basketball”. Really? Basketball ranks right up there with our pitiful economy and the poor jobless folks who don’t get paid millions to coach a basketball team?
So now he’s made the situation much stranger and worse for himself when he could have just kept his mouth shut until the trial was over and everything died down. I’m sure UofL’s president was pleased as punch to watch his head coach rant incoherently about things that have absolutely NOTHING to do with the current scandal at hand!
Good job Rick. I guess you’ve made your bed………..er, uh booth……….now lie in it. The PR nightmare has just begun for you. The media was only eating you for breakfast, now you might as well add lunch, dinner, and a hearty midnight snack to the list. But I’m sure the press will back off now so you can relax and get back to winning games.
