Coach Cal's site has been up for a couple of days and the number of comments on ASOB has been surprisingly ............... absent. Is it a case of not wanting to appear disloyal, confusion or inability to put into words the feelings of awe and wonder after seeing the site with the HUGE banner?
My first impression of coach's site was uh, er, well - I don't know. The first thing I noticed was that HUGE banner "2x Naismith National Coach of the Year" that took up most of the screen. I was expecting something a little more UKish; although there is a UK ticker right above the HUGE banner and also a Big Blue Nation tab above the HUGE banner.
Upon reflection, I accept that it is a Coach Cal site not a UK site. He is simply promoting everything that is near and dear to him - his past accomplishments, charities, tweets, thoughts and, of course, a lot of great information on the coaches, events, etc. The assistant coaches write-ups are particularly interesting.
I'm not really sure what I was expecting on the site and Coach Cal is breaking a lot of new ground (again) and it will be interesting to see the site evolve. It will also be eye-opening to see the difference between "Freemium" and paying members. Isn't this a public institution and should this be "priviliged information"? Just asking.
Did anyone notice there's a HUGE banner on the site?
