Several responses: Dwight Powell has exceptional control of the English language and elevated writing skills for one so young — perhaps that’s the benefit of a Canadian education, there is considerable difference. His long term interest might be best served by attending Harvard if offered. This, in my mind, laid to rest the concept that summer camps were virtual “meat markets” with teen-aged bodies and talents on display for the benefit of college coaches, agents, etc. From Powell’s description the experience is surely educational in nearly all aspects: sex ed, substance abuse, behavior, role modeling, goal setting, and, of course, improved basketball skills. I’ll follow Powell’s career with a heightened interest.
