Report: University of Kentucky football player arrested over the weekend
A Lexington radio station is reporting that a "high profile" UK football player was arrested Saturday night in Lexington. Allegedly, an altercation between Lexington police and the player took place.
No names were given. More on this story as it develops.

I hate when this kind of thing gets reported like this.
You have to figure that the station knows who the player is if they know that he is “high profile.” However, considering that there are few “high profile” (not saying there are few talented players, of course) UK players, I’m worried that we can probably start worrying that Trevard Lindley or Micah Johnson is the player in question. To me, “high profile”means a guaranteed professional future, and I think these two are the only guys on the squad at this point who will one day put on an NFL jersey.
Overly cautious
The host of the show where the incident was reported said that he wasn’t going to release the name of the player. Seems a bit paranoid, and dramatic to me. The name will come out, probably in the next few hours.
The hosts definition of “high profile” is of course unknown.
I hope they report it soon.
Revelations like this keep me up at night.

Sounds like UK is getting closer and closer to competing in the SEC.
:-)

Surely you don't ...
… want to tally up all the player arrests for present and former UK and U of L players. Or perhaps you do, it’s probably the only area U of L’s football beats UK and most other programs. Bobby Petrino ensured that.
Bobby Petrino??
Is he back as the UofL football coach? If so, I better check the wire to see if Eddie is returning to bring the glory back to UK.

As far as I know none of Sutton's recruits were ever arrested.
If you misunderstood my comment from above perhaps you should revisit your English 101 book, which I am sure is tucked away in some dark corner of your lair.

Hey Hoze...
when you can either laugh or cry, i was thinking laugh (but usually gets me in trouble)
anyway, my thought was only 23 more arrests and we would be like UF…

You're dedensiveness missed my point.
It was a joking comment directed toward the SEC, not UK. As with most big football conferences you need a high amount of thugs. Sad but true.

as i said “UF” and, i agree with you sad but true comment.
what does dedensiveness mean? is it a cross between being dense and defensive?

Not so much need ...
… but that’s what you sometimes wind up with. Although to be fair, college kids getting into trouble with the law happens all the time. It can become a problem if its chronic (like Florida’s seems to be right now and Tennessee’s was a few years back), but the odd legal issue is going to happen. Steve Johnson got into a spot of trouble, and he wound up fine. There are numerous examples of kids acting foolishly, then getting it back together.
But your point is not off the mark. Better teams seem to have to deal with more legal issues. That just seems to be how it goes.

True...college kids get into trouble all the time.
But it’s doesn’t usually involve a 275 pound lineman pounding a 160 pound student in a drunk rage. It seems this happens way too often.

Oh...and after I read the below posts, I forgot to add one more thing.
G….U….N….S. The ‘normal’ student body when getting into trouble doesn’t seem to involve guns all that often. Seems to be quite different with sports teams.
'..when they bring a knife, you bring a gun...that's the Chicago way..'
Hmm.
Has that been alleged here? I’m curious as to where this came from.

Just read below.
I’m not suggesting it happened here, but the below comments reminded me of all the criminal acts in college football teams in generalalmost always involve the following: 1) Beating up fellow students, 2) Beating up ex-girlfriends, 3) Drunkedness + some sort of violence, 4) Guns.
I think that about covers it.

My point is ...
… there are no mentions of big athletes beating up on little guys in the instant case. There are rumors of other things, but that isn’t one of them. So where did that come from?

Other Posted Aspects
UK coeds who date UT footballers asked UK footballers for assistance thus leading to the alleged confrontation. Wouldn’t be the first time for altercation between UK and UT students including athletes on the UK campus, I rather fondly remember such an incident from the 1950’s although it was closer to the time of a UK-UT FB game and not in July.

KSR is saying
A fight between UK players (Micah Johnson most mentioned) and a UT basketball player that dates a UK student. So far it is just rumors about a gun being involved.
If peeing your pants is cool, consider me Miles Davis.
If by KSR you are referring to KY Sports Radio ...
… they are not reporting anything. There may be a comment referring to what you write, but that’s it. And we all know what comments at KSR mean … jack squat.
If anyone with any credibility knew anything at this point, we would all know.

A Gun..
Let’s keep our fingers crossed that if a weapon was involved, it belonged to one of Bruce P’s thugs!
I was just looking at the football yearbook today!
And I think Micah has got enough quality help around him to free him up to create a little havoc! That is if he waits until they blow the whistle – to start the fottball game. Hope to goodness it ain’t serious. Whoever the player(s) may be. Think our “D” can take a big step this year.
Food for thought: The virgin birth has much more to do with the absense of a natural earthly father then the use of a virgin mother. Now, chew.....Because, it's called a "corrupt seed", not a "corrupt egg"!

Also
The fact that it hasn’t been reported yet makes me think that it may be one of those situations that can be handled “in house”. Seems like we would have a report if it was anything too major.

To be fair
Most UT basketball players need a good ass-kicking, so the arrest would not have been in vain. . .

I’d say they should calm down a bit until there are more facts. ITV is acting like it is Christmas to them.

If the guys really did
pull out a weapon, no excuses, they get the punishment from Brooks…..he is not the type to put up with this kind of nonsense. I really would like to have a talk with that little lady and her choice of party guests, but that is a moot point. Bringing UT athletes of ANY sport to a party at the UK campus is asking for problems.
Remember, we're having fun now!!!
If someone pulled a weapon then...
…punishment from Brooks should be the least of his worries.
