Congressman to NBA: Repeal one-and-done policy
Will this become a government issue?
Also, other major sports sites are reporting pretty much the same thing as noted in the above link to CBS (Parrish), but here are more links if you are interested.

He is from Tennessee
Afraid of John Wall?
j/k…..I’m sure this guy is like every other politician, just wants attention.
If peeing your pants is cool, consider me Miles Davis.

The Policy Is Absurd
HS baseball players can go pro. HS hockey players can go pro. HS golfers can, too. Ditto HS tennis players.
But not HS basketball players???

Yeah,
I’m going to have to agree, too. I mean, I wanted John Wall as much as the next person, and more than likely without the one-and-done rule in place he wouldn’t be coming to UK. But, then again, without the rule, no one else would be getting him, either. : )
Considering Stern is such an advocate of the rule, and I swear, I think he will be the NBA Commissioner for like the next 50 years (he just seems to give that vibe), and given that Stern initially wanted a two-and-done rule implemented, and will reportedly ask for that again in the upcoming negotiations, I do have to wonder though, what the likelihood of removing the rule entirely will actually be? And, if given the choice out of two bad choices, maybe the two-and-done rule would be the better option? I suppose the two-and-done rule might mean more athletes would choose the Euro option instead of the other option afforded them of being forced to attend college, but at least that way the athletes who don’t really want to go to school for an education wouldn’t be making a joke out of the Universities?
I would definitely like to see the rule as it is changed as I find it quite sad how this dreadful idea appears to be the root of so many negative NCAA issues, but I don’t necessarily think putting David Stern before Congress is the way to go about doing it. Guess we’ll see what happens.

Right BigSky..
I also get the same vibe from David Stern (there forever), and if the one-and-done stays without question, I think a two-and-done rule might make more sense. Maybe it would bring more benefits to the whole scenario. That way the high school athletes might look for a “school” more often, not a stepping stone as much. It still would happen but, it also might better serve the player to be at a college longer for, hopefully, a little more growing mentally.
