Posted this link in today's news comments, but wanted to post it here too. Just a little reminder to all that 20 years ago our UK savior wasn't all squeaky clean either. When you dig deep enough you can find dirt on just about anybody.

Great find slideman...

I commented on today’s post too. It says he had 8 implications by the NCAA. Sort of different from Calipari’s none, huh?

Heh.

I posted this link in a comment to Daniel81, I believe, in that long debate we had the other day.

The most interesting thing is that UK was fully aware of these things when they hired Pitino, and this was right after the NCAA violations UK just went through.

It is an interesting dichotomy, isn’t it? Calipari has no NCAA violations attributed to him and Pitino has several. In fact, Pitino has more actual violations than Calipari has allegations of violations.

Amazing double standard.

Actually

It very nearly resulted in Pitino NOT coming to UK in 1989.

Much closer than anyone knew at the time.

Amen!

Cal is making so many waves on the college bball scene that he is going to be scrutinized at every turn………especially now that he’s at UK. We knew it was coming, and the end is nowhere in sight. Tis the nature of the beast I suppose.
