The 2010's (Decade) What Do You Expect?

I think John Calipari will have a decade like those that Adolph Rupp had in the 1930's - 40's - 50's. For those who may not know, Coach Rupp won 85% of his games those 30 seasons. He won 75% of his NCAA games (all at Elite 8 or Sweet 16 level). He won 19 (of 27) SEC titles and 13 (of 20) SECT championships.

I think Calipari will EXCEED the 1991-2005 era (when UK won almost 80% of its games and 78% of its NCAA games).

My guess - Calipari's UK teams win 83% (or better) of the games in the decade of the 2010's. I think his UK teams will win 80% of their NCAA games in this decade. And (3) NCAA titles plus (7) SEC titles and SECT championships.

UK landed #1 recruiting classes in 1971, 1979, 1984, 1988, 1992, and 2004 - roughly 15% of the time. I think Calipari will land THREE #1 rated classes (counting 2009 as his first) in 10 years - DOUBLE the UK average.

That would be awesome

I see it a little differently. I think UK will dominate the SEC during that decade, winning the regular season title 8-9. I also agree that 7 SEC tourney titles is doable.

I don’t think UK will win 3 NCAA titles though. The tourney is just too hard. I think UK will get one title (two at the max), but will make the Final Four 4-5 times.

That being said, UK will definitely be in the running for consideration as the dominate team of the 2010’s.

UK Won 3 Titles In 1940's

NIT in 1946 was equal in prestige to NCAA in 1948 and 1949.

UK won 2 titles in 1950’s and 1990’s.

Cats will be much like the 1940’s.

My expectations...

Are for UK to be competitive throughout the decade as they were in the 90’s… I remember growing up every year knowing they had a shot at going to the final four or winning it all and hopefully I’ll have that feeling again in the 2010s. I’ll set the bar at three final fours for the decade like we did in the 90’s, but with a better start to the decade (number one recruiting class instead of probation via Sutton) expectations have to be higher!

4 FF In 1990's

1993, 96, 97, and 98.

Duke and UNC had 5 FF in 90’s.

Whitewater Ahead

We are in for one heck of a ride. I feel like the little kid coming out of the store with a big bag of candy in my hand. Just can’t wait.

Duke Set A Record In The 2000's

I’d like UK to break the 300 W total for the 2010’s.
