Around SBN: Stan Van Gundy Fired As Head Coach Of The Magic

Bloggers---Beware!!...They May ALL Be Crooked!!

All of this Bash Cal talk got me really unhappy the other day, and then I saw something from John Clay's Blog. These bloggers(reporters, or whatever you want to call tham) that continually try to put a black mark in front of a man's name, should take a look at this list. Let's see how badly they want to bash a few of those names.

Star-divide

John brings into the light several coaches names that I would have NEVER believed did anything wrong at their respective Universities. To my discredit, I do not know what the circumstances are on each of these cases (please see FortyYearCatFan for stats, lol)  but there are names on here that will REALLY surprise some of you. I want the rhetoric launching, pompous windbags that keep calling Coach Cal something less than honorable to get off of their high horses and prove that every name on this list is a "cheater", "master of the grey area", or a "high risk " coach.

My money is on there being no connection between quite a few of these coaches and the "vacated appearances" by their schools. By the way, if anyone missed it, there may be more to the Derrick Rose situation, it seems that there were some irregularities at his High School, leading me to believe that if there was any malfeasance on anyone's part it would be just as likely that it was at the High School level.

You would have been able to add Coach K

In the Maggette situation, if the NCAA didn’t play favorites….

If peeing your pants is cool, consider me Miles Davis.

I'm still stunned that I hadn't heard anything about this until today

Where have I been for the past 8 years?!!?

Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."

It really has gotten out of hand

It’s like the National Enquirer on steroids….if nothing is happening, just make something up….someone had to have cheated because someone was seen entering someone’s third cousins mother’s house at 3am….it’s a game of 6000 degrees of separation……I would really like to see one of these people be taken to task for this stuff. Starting with the NCAA……it really is time to get rid of this outdated, uneducated, maladjusted, misinterpreted, mean spirited system that the NCAA and NBA have managed to concoct between themselves.

Remember, we're having fun now!!!

Few Names On The List Surprised Me (But Gene Keady Is One That Did)

Coach Keady had little to do with the NCAA sanctions issued to Purdue in 1996. His former assistant Frank Kendrick (actually a friend of mine from our college days there in the early 1970’s) committed the errors than resulted in the NCAA penalties being levied.

Nope

Most of the rest of the names on the list are known sleazeballs.

NOT ALL but most.

Forty, did he ever go anywhere else?

I never heard another thing about him….wasnt he supposed to be a kind-of coach-in-waiting type of guy for them at one time?

Remember, we're having fun now!!!

Kendrick Has Not Been Re-Hired At BCS Level

I think he runs basketball camps now.

He coach in the pro minor leagues for a couple years.

I thought it would

at least, have a few to stop and think. Kentucky was there once…..Once. I think we know that a coach cannot do certain things, and I think Sandy Bell and our compliance dept will do everything they can to make sure that this does not happen again. Don’t worry folks, we will be all right. :-)

I am not so knowledgeable as to other schools in the NCAA, but what happened in 1996? Six different coaches at six different schools. Must have been some kind of ugliness going on? One of the main good things about that year, from my point of view, is the team we love returned with smiles and and a huge banner was raised up high. :-)
