Most Wins!
Hi everyone, I'm new, but have been following for awhile. No one is mentioning that UNC will NEVER catch US in wins now. We should start putting some distance between US any everybody else!!

Actually....
The topic has been brought up (briefly) in the past. By me, to be exact. I don’t think too many people are worried about the “most wins” title as UNC and UK will stay within a few wins of each other over the years. I believe we are 4 ahead at the moment (1,984 to 1,988). Somebody correct me if I’m wrong. My only point was I want to see UK get to 2,000 FIRST and with the way UIK was imploding at the end of the season and the way UNC was packing the wins away, I was afraid they were getting there first. Unless UNC plays a whole lot of games early in the seaon (tourneys and such), we should get their first. Buth there’s a whole lot of time between now and the first twelve wins of the seaons.

UNC Caught Up (And Pulled Ahead) When Pitino Was At UK
But Pitino reversed that by the mid 1990’s. Tubby pulled ahead of UNC in his tenure but Gillispie let them (almost) catch up again.
Cailpari will fix that.
Let's not forget.....
That Pitino and Tubby were largely responsible, but Daugherty, during his short tenure at UNC had a lot to do with it as well. Thanks, Matt!!!!!! If he had just tred water during his time, we’d probably still be 15 games behind right now
Doherty Had 53 W Over 3 Seasons (UK Had 74 W Those Years)
Gillispie had 40 W over 2 seasons (UNC had 68 W those years).
Kinda evens out.

Correction = UNC 70 W, Gillispie 40 W
In 2008 and 09 seasons.

Depending on the early schedule for both,
I think , barely just barely, we avoided them from pulling ahead this year. KY should very well be able to do that this season, but I think it will be close the entire season. Hopefully, and it is looking promising, we can hold UNC’s quest down enough to get 2,000 first. While UNC is the returning national champs, I see KY really adding wins a lot more quickly now.
