Don't Agree There
He deserves some compensation.
I’m still ROTFLMAO-ing about his “Meteoric Rise Through The Coaching Ranks” claim.
Two points – #1 meteors don’t rise, they always fall to earth (crashing and burning).
- His 140-75 career record (3-4 in NCAA games) over 7 seasons doesn’t fit the theme of Rising.

I'm just sick of seeing the guys name...
…He flat out, positively, unquestionably, without a doubt, did not get the job done…
Plus, he was so arrogant, he thought he was above contracts…
I wish he would just go away and never come back to Lexington…

Wrong....
Meteorites fall to earth. Not meteors. Your welcomed.

Meteors Do Indeed Fall To Earth
They become Meteorites when they land.

I think UK will be on the hook for the majority of the 6 million.
UK officials (including their own attorneys) went on record, many times saying the MOU operated as a contract. All of a sudden, when firing Gillispie, Barnhart and Todd said, rather conveniently, that MOU was renewable only on a year-to-year basis. UK is going to be on the hook, I fear, big time here.
Going from UTEP to UK in <3 years is remarkable by the way.

Remarkable MISTAKE By UK's AD
I’ll give you that much.
I’d think UK can EASILY prove he was Fired For Cause.
I sincerely doubt Gillispie ever gets BCS level coaching job again.

I...
think your hatred of Gillispie is clouding your judgement. To go from UTEP to UK that quickly might be the fastest assent in a college coaches career ever. I guess you could say the opposite is true as well, going from UK to potentially UTPA may be the greatest descent.
The Spork, I'm two things in one.

UTEP Won The NCAA Title In 1966
And had the 7th best W-L (%) record in the 1990’s.
HOF coach Don Haskins coached there. It’s not all that far down the totem pole.
But Nolan Richardson made it from UTEP to big time coaching, too.

The first battle (and possibly the biggest)
will be over where the lawsuit remains. Filing the case in federal court in Texas is an obvious ploy to get away from Kentucky. Unless UK went to Texas and negotiated the memorandum, then I can’t see a nexus with Texas (hey, it rhymes), which means that the case would have to be dismissed from federal court with no interstate issues or it will be transferred to a Kentucky federal court for a ruling on whether there are interstate issues.
