Around SBN: Doug Flutie's Hail Mary, And Why College Sports Matter

Hat Tip: Wild Weasel.

Although it’s 20 minutes in length, if you get a chance, check out this awesome interview with Coach Calipari. There are a lot of interesting tidbits covering a wide range of topics. Good Stuff.

I really liked the bit about not caring about recruits’ actual rankings and I also found it interesting that Coach noted that he never promises recruits that they will start, but rather that they all have to compete for their spots.

Oh, and for those of you overanalyzing his symbol tweet from yesterday, he thinks you’re crazy. Hee hee.

12 or 13...

maybe 11 on schollarship? Hard to believe that we’ll have less than 13, but maybe some players who we don’t think are going will decide to go on their own in order to receive some playing time elsewhere.

The Spork, I'm two things in one.

agree ---

thought that a bit tough to believe….

that is of course assuming everyone wants to play. if i was on the border line and wanted to coach one day, i have got to believe by riding the pine at UK over the next year or two, you could pickup some great coaching skills…..

only one rule in my house - uk has to be your favorite college bball team

Great interview

I guess even Rob Bromley can get it right on occasion. I did like the comment that he wanted an undefeated season. You have to have a goal and if you have one, shoot high.
