Reminder to all members

I have been away from the blog more than normal lately working on ... well, work.  This morning, I was catching up on some comments and was dismayed to find that some had descended into the nearest gutter while I have not been paying close attention.  Let's try to do better, and I will take this opportunity to remind everyone of our community guidelines.

Coach and player bashing is not allowed [ASoB Community Guidelines #9].  That includes ALL present and former coaches without any exception.  You may not refer to these men as idiots, thieves, bums, "sucks," stupid, bad, poor, unacceptable or any of the other 10,000 pejorative adjectives and phrases.  You may discuss facts, but you may not badger or stalk others with them.

You may not post deliberately provocative opinions about these men.  They did their best for UK, even if they weren't always as successful as we would have liked.  You may not post opinions that they will never be successful elsewhere -- that is deliberately provocative and baselessly speculative.  In other words, it adds absolutely no meaningful value to any discussion and serves only to threadjack or otherwise distract the conversation.

Please be respectful of the feelings and opinions of your fellow members.  If you know you are likely to anger somebody by making a comment, please consider not making it.  If you must make it anyway, be fair and not dogmatic.

Also, I highly recommend avoiding rumor-mongering.  This Pitino thing is ripe for that, and I have seen at least one Fanpost dedicated to rumors there.  I think we should have more respect for our former coach than to do this, and I strongly discourage passing rumors about him.  If it becomes a distraction, I will place this topic off limits, so please use good judgment on all subjects, but particularly on this one.

Thank you for your understanding and assistance in keeping A Sea of Blue a friendly place for the best Wildcat discussion on the Internet.
