Former UK great Mike Casey passes away

I received this email from Mike's daughter, Laura, a short time ago:

My best friend, my sweet, precious daddy is in heaven now.

He went peacefully and we were all around him to love and pray over him.  He's my Guardian Angel now.

Thank you for all your love, support, prayers ... everything you did is greatly appreciated.

May God continue to bless you all,

Laura

Terribly sad news

Mike Casey was a class act and brought much happiness to many generations of Kentucky fans. May he perpetually rest in peace in blue heaven – our thoughts and prayers are with the Casey family at this difficult time.

Very Bad News

I remember my childhood (at least a big part of it) being spent listening to games on the radio with Casey, Pratt, Issel and on and on.

I know our thoughts are with the family at this time, and certainly hope he is at peace…

May God ...

… bless Mike’s family, and give them peace.

Rest well, Mike. I can see you knocking down that sweet jumper beside some of your old friends right now.

My deepest condolences to the Casey family.

I wonder if any other program in the country would so mourn the loss of a man that played for the team forty years ago as does the Big Blue Nation.

Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth.

Somehow I can picture

My Dad,my Mom, my late husband and all the former UK legends in Big Blue Heaven welcoming Mike Casey onboard the BBN in heaven. All the souls are there collectively and watching over everything and all their kindred Big Blue on earth for the next National Championship.
