Two Different Wildcats > 2007 To 2009

Kentucky defeated Villanova, 67-58, here in Chicago just 2 short years ago. I was there to see it. It was NCAA W #100 all-time for UK.

Both teams had a mix of veteran players and freshman recruits. Both had underachieved (IMO) that 2007 season.

Nova finished 22-11. Kentucky 22-12 after losing the next game to Kansas (also before my very own eyes).

Here we sit 2 years later. Villanova stands at 30-7 and plays in the Final 4 today. Their roster is a blend of young talent from the 2007 team and talented recruits since then.

UK players will be sitting in front of TV sets watching the Final 4 today after 22-14 season. This despite having a similar roster turnover since 2007. Veteran stars (Morris, Crawford, Bradley) moved on. Talented recruits (Patterson, Legion, Miller, Liggins) were added in 2007 and 2008.

It's just an interesting dichotomy to see how differently the past 2 years have gone for the 2 different Wildcat teams.
