Henry's Visit is Back on

Kentucky.com and John Clay are reporting that Xavier Henry and his brother ARE going to visit UK this weekend.  Not sure what this means, but it can not be bad.  I am not sure what it will mean if he commits, regarding Meeks and the number of scholarships we will have, but I understand that Calipari must recruit as if Meeks and Patterson are not coming back, as we can not end up with open scholarships, we need to fill the roster.  All I know is that UK will be a good (maybe great) team next year.

Great news

I read where the longer he doesn’t commit to Kansas, the better the chance he’ll wind up a wildcat.

He did, and the coach moved.

You gotta give the kid a chance to reevaluate his options

I get impatient when a guy drags his decision, too...

but Xavier Henry does not exist solely to entertain basketball fans (hopefully UK basketball fans). This could be the biggest decision of his life.

If it wasn’t for NBA rules, he’d likely be working out for pro teams pretty soon and a lottery lock in a few months. He’s going to be at a school for one year (most likely), and he needs to go where he can either maintain his current hype/stock, or elevate it even further.

Plus, in X’s case, there are other variables – like his brother going where he goes.

Biggest decision?

Where to play for one year is going to be his biggest decision in his life?? I understand it being a hard decision to chose a school where you will be for 4 years but not just for one. His brother is getting a free ride regardless of where he goes. I know it may be a hard decision but if this is going to be the hardest decision in his entire life then I would really love to have his kind of life. I think some milk this for all its worth soley for the attention of it all.

Biggest decision of his life thus far.

He’s – what? – 19 years old? It’s definitely the biggest decision of his life.

I would love to have his kind of life anyway.

"His brother is getting a free ride regardless of where he goes."

So what? I’m saying the fact that he and his brother are a package deal – another variable in where he decides to go.

So What

If his brother had to really “walk on” and pay his way,yes it would be a big decision as far as his brother goes. But he gets a free ride so it’s not like a life and death decision. To me it’s almost like he is using his brother as some kind of leverage. It’s take us both or none at all. Yes they are both great players and I know they would help a great deal, but really I don’t like their tactics. Sometimes it may be better to look elsewhere and maybe get a player or players who will stay longer anyway. Just a thought.

This makes sense

I think Henry coming for a visit is good news for Kentucky and it also shows that he has enough sense to visit a place before he commits.

Good news.

Just a thought: I don’t see a big conflict in having Meeks and Henry in the same lineup. Henry is big enough to play the 3 spot without risking a match-up problem or size disadvantage.

If it is a problem, man, what a good problem to have.
