Very interesting. I am beginning to waver in my belief that he is Kansas bound.

Wall needs Henry

Xavier wants to play with family and CJ will be going wherever his brother decides to lace ’em up. I think Cal knows this, so look for a mass exodus from the UK squad in the upcoming weeks to make sure there is a roster spot for Xavier and his brother.

Even if we lock up the Brothers Henry, I believe the main focus for next season to be anywhere from good to spectacular is John Wall. Not really a difficult observation, but I think Calipari feels that Wall may go to UNC or Duke if we cannot secure Xavier. Coupled with Cousins and the DDMO, the offer to run a team of this caliber would surely be to sweet for Wall to pass up.

In the end, I would understand that Wall would want to spend time with his mother, but I also hope he realizes that at Kentucky, if Cal can get all these super recruits, he would only have one season before he goes into the NBA and huge $$$.

Roster Spot For CJ Not Needed

NY Yankees pay his way – he’s a basketball walk-on.

Anyone know why the Yankee's are paying his way

Been wondering for a while now and guess I’m too lazy to google him.

It's Required When HS Player Signs With MLB Out Of HS

The team has to pay his college expenses if he goes to college in the off-season for baseball.

In other news

Can you IMAGINE if Calipari could actually get John Wall, Xavier Henry and Demarcus Cousins all at one time?!

This is beyond ridiculous to me. Even as I say it, I have just never heard of a recruiter from any school that could do this. Besides the Fab Five, this would have to be the best recruiting coup of all time.

I believe if we got those kids and we had some spots open, then Patterson and Meeks would want to return to make a real run at a Final Four.

I can’t believe I am typing this after the season I just saw. Thank you, Coach Cal!

Don’t forget Hood and possibly Orton.

CJ Henry

Will he have to sit out another season if he transfers from Memphis?

by Hayesfan on Apr 13, 2009 1:26 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

If...

he loses his petition to the NCAA he will.

Tru,

youre scaring me into thinking this is all really possible…..possibly the most talent ever assembled in one recruiting class added to Meeks and Patterson for one incredibly glorious season???They will double ticket prices!!!!

Tru, if you haven't seen this link about

Xavier Henry

it’s worth looking at for a KU perspective on Xavier’s future. I don’t know squat about the author, but his/her insight is … well … different than most of what I see about this recruit.

WOW!!!

I guess there are people out there that are just as critical about the game as KY fans. The author is taking a lot of very hard lines about a lot of issues with this kid. All it sounds to me like is that he wants to have all the time he can to make a decision that is going to have a lot of effect on his livelihood. I believe that Kansas is one of the best programs out there, but to harass a kid for being a one-and-done player in the world we are in today is really unnecessary. And his status as that is seriously in question. No one has the right to fault these kids for seeing $$$ light up like a pinball machine. As long as they receive sensible counseling and good parenting, thats all anyone can ask for before being turned loose on the world. They see LeBron and they see success. We have no one to fault but ourselves and the system they are brought up in. Dont attack an 18 yr old for wanting it all. Im 43 and I still have dreams too.Let someone attack me for playing the lottery…..see what I tell them.

I did read it.

It wasn’t all that convincing, but then again, I can’t say he doesn’t have an argument.

As I say, I am beginning to wonder.

That #4 is the first shot across the bow..

..if we get the gram slam in recruits. Be ready for the rumbling from the national press. If we have a wholesale purge and refilling of scholarships with all 4&5 star recruits, there’s going to be an ugly side. There’s no shortage of peole in the press that wouldn’t mind giving us a poke.

Henry And Orton=Oil And Water

Due to family clashes UK signing Xavier (Zahv-yay) — born in Belgium thus the pronunciation — makes inking Daniel problematic.

I'd...

rather have Orton, Bledsoe, and Dennis than Henry and Wall. I like Orton too much too let him go for Henry and if Wall didn’t sign because of it, I’d be fine with it.

I got that feeling too from some of the things I've read

I’m not sure how much may be just rumor, when Orton’s father said that he is “commited to UK unless something unexpected happens”, I get the idea that signing of Henry might fall under that category. Orton seems like a good kid and I’d rather have him than a “one and done”.

Orton is a good kid ...

… but so is Henry. Henry is a very intelligent young man, I think his GPA is somewhere in the 3.5 vicinity. I have heard him interviewed, and he is very articulate.

It really all rests on CJ getting his petition through

or Xavier may just wind up back at Memphis…Wall is coming anyway…that I can feel deep in my bones…all of his comments about wanting to go to a place that NEEDS a PG (unlike UNC)…and wanting to play in a pro-style offense that features athletic PG’s primed for the NBA…playing for 24,000 plus at home…I don’t think he would mind playing with Nolan Dennis (if he were to be the alternate prize if Henry doesn’t choose UK)… I also think that Orton would stay if Henry opts elsewhere, and I think he has more upside for UK (in terms of staying longer and contributing) than Henry… I would be fine with Wall, Dennis, Cousins, Orton and Hood for a recruiting class to add to Meeks, Patterson, Liggins, Miller, Harris, Stevenson and Galloway… someone check my scholarship math on that one…
