Anthony Grant is Alabama's top candidate; may receive offer today
The search for a new head basketball coach at the University may be coming to an end as Virginia Commonwealth University’s Anthony Grant has emerged as the top candidate.
Grant, who according to multiple sources is expected to travel to Tuscaloosa Wednesday, could receive a formal offer during his visit, the Tuscaloosa News reports.

I like Grant a lot.
But, IF UK is in search of a new coach, they need to try and pluck an established guy from his team (my dream coach would be Calipari from Memphis) and avoid guys who haven’t yet proven themselves at the elite level. We already took a chance on an “up-and-comer,” and it didn’t (hasn’t) worked out so well.
Let me make clear that I want Gillispie to stay for at least one more year. Unfortunately, I think his media blunders are what will push Barnhart and Todd over the edge and let him go tomorrow morning.
