UK Basketball: Patterson thinks Gillispie will be back at UK
OMAHA, Neb. - Patrick Patterson believes that Billy Gillispie will be coaching at Kentucky again next year.
However, even UK's talented sophomore center admitted after Monday's dramatic 65-63 win over Creighton here in the National Invitation Tournament that there was no way to know for sure what might happen.

Very sad
This article breaks my heart. Gillispie telling the guys not to worry about anything just focus on the games, but it is obvious that the team is worried. This whole situation is just really really awful. I agree whole-heartedly with Patterson that Kentucky would be losing a good coach should Billy leave. Patterson seems to really be behind his coach and considering the way we all feel about Patterson – his work ethic, morals, maturity, etc – I think that should say a whole hell of a lot.
I believe in Billy G.

Here is a telling statement:
Patterson said. “We see what the papers say about coach Gillispie, but we don’t know anything. We are pretty much in the dark, and I guess coach Gillispie will find out at the end of the season (if he will be back).”
WE SEE WHAT THE PAPERS SAY ABOUT COACH GILLISPIE……..effing media….can not even call them journalists. Journalists report on REAL stories about REAL problems….not BS about a coach of a basketball team.
Unfortunately there are very few journalists out there. PC world and politicians keep them bottled up…the rest are talking heads or text twitterers. Sorry, ever since I went to work at a TV station I have no respect for the media. All they give a crap about is selling ads. Don’t offend the advertisers!!!! Don’t do a story about a business that is cheating people, cause they advertise with us!!!!!
Off the box now. This is a very sad article for our boys in blue. Hopefully they will ignore the crap and if they have to, use the distractions as fuel to kill their opponents on the court. Figuratively, of course. :)

It Actually May HELP Them Bond As A Team
Us (team, coaches, etc) versus them (news media, etc).

interesting point, Forty
….something that I’d been thinking about the past few days.

Fortry
I totally agree with you and this might be the spark that they needed to bond together. I never really thought of that before. Maybe this is why Mitch hasn’t said anything. Maybe he is letting these kids sweat a little bit.
I don't care who is coach as long as Kentucky is Kentucky!

Hmm,
I will admit I don’t know all that much about Mitch, but I think it might be reaching just a bit to think that he is keeping mum because he hopes the team will adopt an "us against the world" mantra. That may end up being what they think, but I find it really hard to believe that that is Mitch’s master plan, if he indeed even has one.
While it’s awfully nice of you, I think you may be giving him a bit too much credit in this case. : )
