It looks like we will have to accept that Billy G. will be the UK coach for at least another season. If he produces W's I can live with that. So I want to start floating some more constructive threads. One never knows if something might find its way to his desk, and he actually likes the idea.
There aren't a whole lot of pages I'd consider taking from Joe Hall's playbook, but one I'd take right now and put in front of BG is Joe's preseason conditioning program (which he sold to Rupp in '66 with terrific results) and the weights program, which I think had a lot to do with the '78 NC. You wouldn't see Jodie Meeks with tired legs. One of the members of the '66 team, and I don't recall which it was, said on the record that the players hated those drills, but when they hit the court that year, they literally ran over other teams. He indicated it was the single biggest factor in the Runts making it to the National Title game against TW.
So, if Billy likes his players to work hard, maybe Joe's conditioning and weights programs would interleave nicely with his philosophy (?).
