This post is more of a question rather than one man's opinion.
How do you get rid of a coach that was the COY last season and has over 20 wins this season? I understand that Billy had lost control of his team. I saw how that negativity led to more players losing confidence and getting worse. I know his tact is something he needs to work on if he wants to improve his stature in the Commonwealth...
Even if all of these things are combined, I still see no compelling reason that Mitch Barnhart, Lee Todd, the "fans", or the media should make Billy Gillispie leave Lexington. Please, do not give me the line that he will leave on his own. I have seen this guy enough to know he has entirely too much confidence and pride to cut and run after 2 seasons. There are not greener pastures. This is the top of the hill for him.
I do believe that he can get something going at Kentucky, but I think that he is dealing with the fact that fans around the state have been waiting on the previous establishment to bring us a little more glory, especially Tubby's last 3 seasons. Combined with Billy's last two years, it has been a very mediocre stretch for our WIldcats, but in my opinion, he deserves more time.
That being said, I wonder what other real fans (I consider SoB fans to actually have some perspective) think should be done.
