May I say this
this is my first experience as a Cat fan watching the Cats play the NIT. It has been surreal to not look for them in the tourney. You know what though, today I found myself happy knowing that they have a good chance of winning some more games and getting this fanbase behind them again. I don't think we would have made it very far in the tourney but the NIT we have a chance. I am hoping that Memorial was a good start for us. Billy said he expected a turnaround in the NIT and I am starting to believe it. Many fans of other teams are disappointed today and will be tomorrow, Sat, and Sun, but I know I get to see my boys play on Monday night and have a good shot of winning. I am so proud that I get to do that. So I no longer see this as bad thing. Do I want to be here again? NO! But I am going to enjoy this ride while it last. Lets go boys!

I agree...
I see this team going nowhere in the tournament, but, like you said, we have a legitimate chance at hanging another banner this year. Honestly, I would rather go to the NIT than get put out in the first or second round of the tournament every year, which seems to be the case the past few years. The past few years I have dreaded the tournament, knowing we would be going home in just 1 or 2 games.
It's funny.
Feeling hopeless going into the tournament is frustrating. I have actually watched more NIT games this year than NCAA games — the early round matchups are much better in the NIT, and the NIT is full of good teams this year. The games have been great.
Not where we wanna be, but now that we are there, I find myself able to enjoy it. Interesting.

Still not the same
I’ve watch some of the NIT games. They may be decent matchups, but it is not the same as yesterday watching all the first round games, and it won’t be the same as watching the games this weekend.
It Was That Way In 1976 Too
The NIT was actually fun. I knew many of the players.
It was a good springboard to success in 1977 and 78.

I am having a good time!
The game at Memorial was one of the most fun times I have ever had at a game. The Va Tech game was really good, too – double overtime!
I believe in Billy G.

2 and out?
Miss me with that. I, too, feel that frustration regarding the painful outlook in the NCAA tourney for the last 10 years (don’t look at a calendar forty — I’ll save you the trouble by admitting that that comment is indeed an indirect shot at someone specific). Sure, I would rather win the NIT than go two and out in the Dance. But more than that, I want to see the Cats in the hunt for the big prize every few years.
We're all just a banana peel away from eternity.
It Would Be Incorrect
UK made Sweet 16 or better in 2001-02-03-05.
UK was 1 & Done in 2008.
UK was 2 & Out in 2000-04-06-07.
UK is None & Done in 2009.
UK finished the 2000’s at 14-8 in NCAA tourney.
UK was 13-9 (NCAA games) in 1980’s.
UK was 7-7 (NCAA games) in 1960’s.

Hood's boot comes off in two weeks and will be practicing to be a PG.
I read that. Don’t know if it would happen . . . but:
PG/LG: 6’6" Hood 185lbs.
SG/Wing: 6’4" Meeks 215 lbs.
SF/Wing: 6’7" Miller 225 lbs.
PF/Post: 6’9" Patterson 245 lbs.
C/Post: 6’10" Orton 255 lbs.
Bench With Experience:
Porter
Harris
Stevenson
Harrellson
Galloway
Pilgrim
Liggins
Newbies
GJ
Tucker
OOPS someone is a walk-on and/or a nonscholarship player.
Hood AT The 1
Heaven forbid. Just what UK needs another slow-footed point guard.
Neither Liggins Nor Galloway Are Slow Afoot
Both are PG. Coach just DNP-CD’ed them too often.

Porter Is Not The Only PG
And he should be a spot-up SG.
He was 2x All-State DB who led State of Calif in interceptions as Jr and was recruited by USC football coaches.
Must have some foot speed.

They often didn't play...
because they didn’t get the job done when they had their chances. Liggins was/is a major disappointment. I didn’t expect that much from Galloway in the first place. When Porter was introduced as PG at the first exhibition game this season,I knew then it could be a long year.

I think ...
… they will all be a lot better next year. All Liggins needs is time. Same for Galloway.
