2009 recruit Orton's TEAM falls short
Returning to his Bishop McGuinness team in time for the playoffs stretch run, Kentucky signee and 2009 Jordan All-American Daniel Orton wasn't able to push his team to a fourth consecutive Oklahoma state title.
Saddled by foul trouble in the first half, Orton poured in 10 fourth quarter points -- finishing with 14 -- to keep it close, but McGuinness fell to Star Spencer 67-61 in the 4A state title game.
Orton had posted 10 points and 3 blocks in the semifinals.

actually, your heading should read...
Orton’s “team” falls short…
I’m just happy to see the kid playing again… Lets hope and pray that his knee is 100% by the fall…

You're welcome.
nm.
I could frankly give two rips about the rest of his “team.” You must be a big McGuinness fan.

Whew
When I read that headline I thought Orton had tripped over something and wrecked his knee again.
Don’t scare me like that, JL!

Heading
I thought it meant JL had a poor opinion of Orton when I read the headline. It wasnt until I read the article I figured out he meant Orton’s team lost.

Jesus > Can He Play PG?
I’m pretty sure His eligibility hasn’t expired. And He would be PERFECT too.

Might be tough to get past the NCAA
Think of all those “extra benefits” the compliance office would have to explain….

Not A Back To Basket Player
On last night’s call-in show Gillispie commented on Orton’s toughness and work ethic, and stated that he was not particularly a back-to-basket player but preferred facing up and using quickness; also lauded his ball-handling skills and ability to lead break.

Orton projects ...
… as a power forward in the NBA. Actually, his skill set and body are a much better fit for the NBA four than Patterson’s are.
Orton is a terrific passer for a big man, and has an excellent handle for a man his size. He does have range, but his game isn’t about putting up 25 points, although he certainly can do that — he makes others around him better, and does the little things well.
