Yeah I thought it was funny
The reference to Kentucky University and not UK. When will people ever learn?

No problem.
I relished doing it more than you know.

How did FL get a #1 seed and UK got a #4 seed?
Does that make any sense?

Terrified of this team
A quick team reliant on its guard play with a good x’s and o’s coach who will surely play a zone to combat Kentucky’s size. Wink Adams = Devon Downey

Cincy Beat Them In Vegas
But UNLV has 5 W (just 1 L) versus NCAA selected teams.
by FortyYearCatFan on Mar 15, 2009 9:59 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I'm telling you
It’s a team crafted perfectly to beat the Cats.

you think Jasper will give them a little dirt on the cats...? lol

Bowling Green could...
…give Creighton all kinds of trouble, and if they beat them, UK would play 2nd game @ home..!

Bigger question
and this scares me,we question that we do not have enough talent to make it to MSG?A down year is one thing, but how far have we fallen?Something is really wrong that someone would actually think that this team could lose in the first round.
by -Zoso- on Mar 15, 2009 10:04 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Enough Talent, Sure
Confidence, we’ll see.
UK has as much (or more) talent than anyone in NIT field.
by FortyYearCatFan on Mar 15, 2009 10:06 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Eh... Florida is definitely more talented
The fact that Donovan is playing in two straight NIT’s after two straight NCAA champs is mind boggling to me.
Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."

Syracuse
NCAA champs in 2003.
NIT in both 2007 and 2008.
Not quite the same but sort of.

question is will ky show up to play in the nit. I JUST DONT KNOW WITH THIS TEAM ANYMORE
by midge on Mar 15, 2009 10:09 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
well, here's my take...
If the game were in Rupp, where half the seats would have been empty, then I think you may be on to something…
But..!!! Sense the game is in Memorial, the house will be packed, the experience will be new for the players, they practice there EVERY SINGLE DAY, so I think our boys will come out fighting and pumped up and we will roll..!!!!
Just how I feel… Great shooting gym, and we all know that we have a GREAT shooting guard…!

maybe they'll be more comfortable there
I don’t know really, I’m just trying to think of anything that sounds good.

Craft Center
is attached to Memorial Coliseum. They do practice in memorial still on occasion. If you walk through the doors leading to the memorial floor you can step right on to the craft floor.

That’s what the VERY expensive Craft Center is for.

Wow
I guess now the “EXCUSE MACHINE” is in full mode.I now know that I am outdated, because I expect to play hard. This “give up” mentality makes me ashamed. For the life of me,this is unreal.UK may lose, but I will always be a “WILDCATTER”

Low Scoring
Quite familiar with Lon Kruger, have known him since high school in Kansas, actually did play-by-play in an American Legion state championship game in which he pitched. Great competitor, very smart, would remind you of Kyle Macy. Has always been defensive-minded, learned that from Jack Hartman at KSU. Plays a 4-guard offense this year and features physically strong and moderately athletic players. I’m sure, from his nature, that he’s figured out that defending Meeks and Patterson is the key to defeating UK, Cats will have difficulty running offense. Take care of ball only 12 TO/G while forcing 16 including 7 Steals/G. Not a good rebounding team due to lack of size and 2.8 RPG deficit. They’re a bit like Auburn but more physical, better defensively, not as quick or as good offensively. Wink Adams, 6-0 200 senior guard is key player despite not being a big scorer or good shooter (only 26.6% from 3). 3 players average in double figures. As usual Patterson and Meeks will give UK a small overall talent advantage w/other 3 positions slightly favoring Running Rebs. Should be an interesting coaching matchup. Interesting to note that one UNLV board is quite negative about the NIT, going on the road but mistakenly saying the game will be in Rupp. They do relish the possibility of adding a victory over UK to the one over UL. I’m sure there’ll be much more to come.

Lon K Is One Of 5 Coaches To Take 4 Different Teams To NCAA Tourney
Sutton, Pitino, Tubby, and Driesell are the other 4.

Correction > There Are 2 Others
John Beilein getting bid at Michigan makes that his 4th NCAA team.
And Jim Harrick also took 4 different teams to NCAA tourney. And NCAA probation.

I don't care who is coach as long as Kentucky is Kentucky!

I tried to get NIT tickets and every thing they had left on line was in the ZZ section. Seems like it would be fun, but not fun enough to actually go to a Kentucky game. I have not been to one in so long that I miss it a lot though. If any one could let me know about a better situation for me +3 that would be neat :)
