Does coach DESERVE another 1-2 more years?
Now that UK will most likely accept an invitation to the NIT, I have read many comments that 'Gillispie deserves another year as head coach'. What has he done to deserve these additional years?
Does he have the program heading in the right direction? Is the trend up? Has the team played better as the season progressed? Has he professionally handled the media? Does he treat the incredible fan-base with the respect they deserve? Has he explained his philosophy or strategy sufficiently to garner confidence from the administration, team, or fans? Do his players support him (be careful with assessing the recent public answers to direct questions over the last couple of days...the players had no choice but to answer in the afffirmative)? Has he successfully recruited; has the 2008 class met UK standards? Has he represented the university in the manner that should be expected?
The only real reason that I can determine, is that it would harm the program if he was removed after only two years. But from what I have seen, he hasn't done anything to deserve another year.

Yes he does
And I know you of all people have already read the comments on this site as to why. Why in the world would you put this Fanpost up? It’s not as if a zillion have not appeared over the last week.
I do not want this site getting like the CC did about Krag and UL football. Can you respect that?
I'm just asking whether he has done anything to DESERVE another year?
I personnally think that UK has to GIVE him a year for the comments I mentioned above, but I don’t think he DESERVES it. I think I am being respectful. Is it respectful to point out that you didn’t give me a reason why he DESERVES another year?

Whether he deserves it or not is utterly irrelevant.
The harm in firing him would outweigh the benefit. It’s that simple.

irrelevent?
No disrespect but I do not see the harm in firing Billy outweighing the benefit.Getting rid of someone that is not taking your program in the right direction(not jus the win-loss column)can not be all bad.It is called looking out for the program isn’t it?You can compare billys wins with pitino but pitino teams seem to improve as the seasons went and billy has been just the opposite.I am not a pitino fan but let’s look at the facts-no way can you compare the two of things to come.Any 2 coaches for that matter.
