USC/UK
I was at the game in Columbia ... I had lower level seats. Trust me, PPat got fouled a plenty and the "no calls" fueled the Colonial crowd. You're kidding yourself if you think USC got 16 "clean" blocks - this was a mugging - Jarvis Varnadoe does not play for USC. I've been to many UK/USC games in Columbia and this one was no different - you have to commend the USC fans they are a force - just like 24,000 screaming in Rupp. Our kids weren't ready and that responsibility has to fall squarely with the coaching staff. We had the same game plan and got nearly the same result (as far as turnovers and made threes) as the USC/UK game in Rupp. We had to defend the three better - everyone knew that - but there was no effort and no adjustment. We still don't have one play (even just an catch and shoot - note to BCG: see Tubby Smith's design play for Joe Crawford) to help Jodie get an open look. Watch Jodie move without the ball - he's the James Brown of college Bball - "the hardest working man" - he should be SEC and National POY. Nobody works as hard as Jodie Meeks - thank you Jodie on behalf of all the fans. An equally big Thank You to Patrick Patterson - Kentucky fans are mostly hitting BCG over this game and alot of that is warranted but, please, UK fans, don't forget the effort of PPat - Devan Downey didn't - he recognized a great player doing everything in his power to help his team win, he recognized a player who refused to quit, refused to give up. Patrick Patterson, thank you for your effort - there will be better days in your future. So on to the future. A lot has been opined about the return of PPat and JM, my thinking is why should they? Come back to what? AJ Stewart gone ... who else will go .. Perry Stevenson?, Josh Harrelson? Liggins? Will they go the way of Legion and Jasper? Porter should go... he's not a D-1 point.... there it's said again. He's 2-Guard - try another experiment at point. In the USC/UK game we came out of a time out, had a play called by our coach(?), and Liggins dribbles right, looks in to PPat, ignores an open JoshH, passed to no one and launches a three that missed badly - you can't tell me that was the play we called - BCG does not have the respect or the confidence of his players ... he berates them publicly and individually... that's not a team concept and I have never seen anything like that in UK basketball. Go ahead BCG tick off the Journalists and the Referees - who suffers - you or your team? If you follow recruiting you may see the impact BCG has had with UK, look at the top uncommmited recruits, Lance Stephenson will choose this week, is UK in the mix? How about John Wall? DCousins includes Kstate, NCState and Rutgers - not UK....Think we can land Harrison Barnes? If you have D-1 talent ... UK is on national television for almost every game, UK leads the NCAA in attendance year after year, look at our facilities ... it's the fans and support that make this program great ... a coach(?) ... (BCG are you listening?) should be able to capitalize on that. I'm not ready to say "hey, cut your losses and move on" but I've had about all of the BS I can stand and I know I'm not alone in that thought ... I want that eighth banner in Rupp like any other true fan and I'm not one to accept mediocrity ... Here's a scenario sure to inflame alot of Cat fans .... what coach (currently on the sidelines) could both recruit and capably coach a UK team to a National Title? A couple of weeks ago The General, Bobby Knight, was quoted as saying he would be interested in the coaching vacancy at Georgia. Hey if you're going to can BCG, go with a proven winner. You may not like his ways, but you couldn't argue with his success and I'm not sure if anyone is happy with BCG's ways except maybe MitchB. Just some food for thought. Cat Fans ask yourself "how bad do you want that eighth banner?"

Bobby Knight in blue
now that would be a sight.
"Learned to love the Cats at a young age, via tape delay."
I think Bob Knight would be a lateral move at best....
Hypothetically, If people think that Gillispie is unwavering in his system, wait until they get a load of Bob Knight. If UK fans think that top recruits are avoiding UK because of Gillispie, wait until they get Bob Knight. No top recruit in their right mind would come and play for Coach Knight now. I am not dissing the guy. I loved Indiana when he was there, as long as they weren’t playing UK. But modern 4 and 5 star players don’t want to deal with a system oriented team, they want a system built around them to make them more marketable for the next level. If people think Gillispie is stubborn and rude… wait until they get the General, who in an aside, didn’t win anything after 87’ with Indiana. His records post that Championship were similar to many of Tubby’s records (post championship) and Gillispie records. Firing Coach G. for Bob Knight would be at best a lateral move and at worst a giant mistake… replacing a young coach w/ potential for one who peaked years ago and one who would at best be in it for another 3 years or so.
I need a Sea of Blue because I am surrounded by Tennessee orange!
A Former SEC Coach Sat Right Behind Me At The Game
As part of an overall discussion on coaching philosophy, he said, “Even Bobby Knight tweaked his philosophy as college basketball changed.”

I hit 30 last year
It definitely does have an odd feel to not be able to say “I’m in my 20’s.”
Sure, maybe I was 29… but it still starts the same as 21!!!!
Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."
Grey hairs
Im 25. I got married when I was 22. No joke I started noticing grey hairs coming in six months after I got married.
DEEETROIT BASKETBALLL!!!
It is always the woman's fault
I tell my wife that my grays are because of the stress she gives me :o)
Gray Hair on a Guy...
I have always thought it made a guy look distinguished no matter the age, not so flattering for a woman.
My brother who is 2 years younger than me was white-headed at age 40, just like our uncle on my Mom’s side of the family. I am 59 and I just started sprouting the gray 2 years ago, but my sister who is 54, has been gray for at least 5 years. Sometimes it is just genetics and not age.
My Hair has Been "GRAY" Since August 1951
But it only turned gray in late 1980’s.
(Hint: GRAY = name)

My Last Name Is GRAY
Hence my hair has always been “Gray” hair.
It turned gray (color) in the late 80’s (late 30’s for me then).

Ok
I never knew your last name. So you have genetics in your family for early graying also.
Damn…I bet you are a good looking dude! :-)
I am glad you are a natural Forty!
I can’t sayu the same for myself as I get highlighted every 4 months to hide my gray…lol
LOL!
How much bourbon have you had?? (kidding)

Probably too much but I am having fun with Forty, and yes It seems I am older than he his by about 7 months lol.
January 21, 1951
I already have ….when you said August of 1951….I knew….just consider us both old farts!
I'm Not The Latter
My grandfather had grey hair in the 1950’s and white hair when he died in 1968 (he was 70ish then).

Gotta love them cougars!
Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."
Oops
Guess my hubby thought differently. I was 25 when he met me and he was 38. I never saw a huge age difference in our dating for 1 1/2 years before we married. I was 27 plus and he turned 40 the day after we married. Great guy and great marriage.
He always considered me “hot” even after plus 25 years.
Go with it gals and guys…one is only as old as you act!
Oh,
that was TOTALLY just supposed to be a joke directed to kentuckygirl. My point was for her not to worry about her upcoming birthday and getting older, she will only get better with age – because as you know, women tend to do that. ; )
Cheers! Have one for me too! : )
He most likely will not believe that.
But it takes a REAL woman to keep a man going into their 60’s and beyond.
Just from experience here.
Thanks!
UK plays always plays Florida on or around my birthday. This year it happens to be the day after at the Swamp. A big W sure would be a nice birthday present… (just sayin’!) ;)

Actually
There is a good mix here age wise….20’s, 30’s, 40’s, 50’s even 60’s. That’s really a positive for this blog.
