UK's worth? Music City Bowl sees $17 million drop
"the 2008 bowl had a $9.97 million impact on the local economy — a decrease of more than $17 million from 2007's bowl" While the article plays up the bad economy as a potential cause, I think a second more likely cause is that the University of Kentucky Wildcats played in Memphis and not in Nashville this bowl season.

Interesting.
I’m sure the economy has something to do with it as the article tries to claim, but lets be honest… Vanderbilt was playing a home game in Nashville. The fans don’t have to get there early to get a hotel. They don’t spend their days in bars and restaurants. They aren’t buying all the nick-nacky tourist trap junk. Plus… it was Vandy. The fans aren’t exactly known for filling up their own home games.
I’d like to see the numbers on the Liberty Bowl in Memphis for this year.
Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."

Yes I would like to see those as well, but I have not been able to find them.

Heh. Wow.
If UK goes back there and that turns around, I guess we’ll know, won’t we?
