Demling: Hood has virtually locked up Mr. Basketball honors for this season
University of Kentucky signee Jon Hood had a huge game on Friday night for Madisonville High School in a 71-53 win over Fort Campbell.
Playing for the first time in almost three weeks, Hood rang up 33 points, 13 rebounds, nine blocked shots and four assists in the victory.
Hood has virtually locked up Mr. Basketball honors for this season. Madisonville plays rival Hopkins County Central tonight and its final regular-season game is Tuesday against Apollo.

Hope UK Gets Vee Sanford To Prep In 2009
Then lands him as part of 2010 class. Long time since UK had a scholarship player from Lexington.

Sanford
not so sure about him. I play with guys who played against him in high school and have heard that he is very streaky. He’s very good when he is on but disappears at times. I would like to have him but am not so sure i want to spend a scholarship on him.

And what stellar careers they had for us...
Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."

Stockton
Forgetting about him and Carrier both is easy to do.

No Reason Why
Both graduated from UK.
Stockton was decent back-up PG to Fitch and Hawkins in 2003 and 2004, then to Rondo in 2005 and 2006.
Carrier was a good shooter (SG/WF) who got very little PT opportunity behind Azubuike in 2003-04-05, Bogans in 2002 and 2003, Fitch in 2004, and Crawford in 2005.

Thanks for the info
Carrier was legendary in practive not so much on the court. Neither were that good and both are easy to forget.

Carrier And Stockton
UK was 109-25 in the 4 years Carrier was on the UK roster.
UK was 109-28 in the 4 years Stockton was on the UK roster.
Both are in the 80% (W-L record) for their UK careers.

Stockton and Carrier
They had little to do with those records. UK was great while they were in school. There is no disputing that. Im not making any comment about the school or coach.Im only saying I dont think Carrier and Stockton were very good and IMO they are easily forgettable meaning they are easy to overlook.

Sure They Did
There are 12 or 13 players on a roster. Each plays a role.
Both had more talented players ahead of them at PG or SG/WF but both contributed in practice (by making those players better) and did OK in games when called upon.

So if we get things together this year and win a title...
We should immortalize Donald Wililams and Josh Carter?
Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."

Jared
Obviously should have transferred FROM UK in 2007 if he wished to play.
Gillispie doesn’t utilize the 7-footer in his coaching schemes.

Cant really say I blame him there.
I am not – and have never been – impressed with Jared Carter.

Amazingly Enough
North Carolina, Illinois, Boston College, Cincinnati, Ga Tech (et al) offered him in 2005.

Hmmmm...
…I guess he’s growth as a player has been stunted by poor coaching then. :)

2006, 2007, 2008, 2009
Tubby coached in 2006.
He was injured (out) in 2007.
Gillispie coached in 2008 and 09.

Josh Carter?
Yes, all 13 UK roster players have a role.

Except At Louisville
Derrick Character had NO ROLE whatsoever.

I don't get it.
…now maybe if you’d back it up with some fantastic stats, I’ll experience an epiphany and really be impressed.
But I doubt it.

Role
Everyone has a role. That doesnt mean their role contributed much to the teams success.

Erik Played 3 Years With JC And 2 Years With BS
(He said) both were good teammates and contributed to the teams’ success.
I’ll take his word for it. He was there. We were not.
