Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Where Will They Be For 2010-2011??

Something different for speculation's sake......Who stays, who goes??
Who fills the holes??

Star-divide

Mark Richt, Georgia

Charlie Weis, Notre Dame

Brian Kelly, Cincy

Phil Fulmer

Jon Gruden

University of Louisville

Notre Dame

Steve Spurrier, S.Carolina

Butch Davis, N.Carolina

Rich Brooks, Kentucky

The Bowden Boys

Tommy Tuberville

All of these places and names have been bandied about either for change, retirement, or to fill a really big hole somewhere. I feel like Richt has another year at Georgia before they pull the plug. Gruden signed a new broadcasting contract, but that can be dropped at a moment's notice. Weis is a good coach, but he needs to be where he can get the top talent to succeed. Fulmer is chomping at the bit to go to Louisville, but they dont seem too interested. The rest of the list is full of perennial hot candidates, so....make your picks folks, and feel free to add to the list......I did not bring the Boise State coach into the mix, but he might ought to be here as well. Who are the names no one knows??

Gotta get a last chance in at a little football before I am consumed by the Big Blue Flame on Saturday. I wonder what a Tar Heel tastes like???

Charlie Strong to U of L

Kelly, Richt, Spurrier, Davis, Brooks, and Gruden stay at their current jobs.

Notre Dame — I don’t think Meyer or anyone of his standing will take the job.

Stoops

I ride the train home with Big $$$ ND booster. He said tonight that he has been e-mailed that ND coach will be Stoops from Oklahoma.

Take that FWIW.

That makes sense.

Of all the “big name” coaching possibilities, Stoops’ Oklahoma team was probably the worst this year, and will be losing several marquee players going into next year.

I agree

it looks like Louisville is definitely looking at Charlie Strong as their guy. Interesting that our supposedly backward state could have two black head football coach’s at the two biggest schools in the state.

The Notre Dame job is one of the biggest in the sport just like our b-ball job. I agree that it’s going to be VERY difficult for them to get any of the coaches that they’ll want. Meyer, Carroll, Stoops. They’ve almost painted themselves into a corner with the way they’ve blown through coaches. Glad Barnhart grabbed Coach C when he did or we might be looking at the same thing in b-ball. I think the CIncy guy will be their coach….it sure won’t be Fulmer!!

Have to believe Georgia sticks with Richt at least one more year and based on Coach Brooks recruiting trips, looks like he plans to be back.

A UofL friend told me the fans didn’t like Fulmer because he was too fat….guess that eliminates Charlie as well!!:-)

You forgot to include Mangini

but then, I guess its because everyone knows he’s going to Buffet State University. ;-)

Mark Mangino would be more appropriate at BSU

than Eric Mangini.

When I used to see Mangino on the sidelines during a televised game, I always expected him to eat whoever was standing closest to him.

Maybe

that was the player abuse claim. (Meant Mangino in first post but my Italian is weak.) ;-)
