Royce White Leaves Tubby And Minnesota (Video)

Royce White was the jewel of Coach Smith's highly ranked recruiting class but as many best laid plans do this one didn't follow the path. There were several problems including the final one which saw White charged with an on-campus burglary and be indefinitely suspended. Today in a YouTube video — high quality and high skill — White announced his intention to transfer, all the while declaring his innocence, his love of The U, and with great compliments for his coach. All in all a bit strange but is there anything surprising in this day of unlimited social networking. If indeed Royce White produced this video he would appear to have a career other than hoops.

He Didn't Make The Video

And there is no official announcement, just this video.

It may happen but it hasn’t yet.

Who Did Make The Video, Mr. Insider?

How 'Bout A Link To White's Other Video?

The one where he praises Tubby Smith – he posted it last week.

This is the kind of stuff...

we saw under Tubby’s tutelage at UK on steroids. He is a great man, coach, and humanitarian, but he has a tendency to recruit lost causes. He is great for Minnesota. He will do well in the Big 10 and get Minnesota to the the big dance, but he will never win it all again. I cant express how much I respect him and his Xs and Os coaching, but he doesnt have the killer instinct that we expect at UK.

Remains To Be Seen

Royce White was recruited by schools like Kansas and North Carolina, too. Do they recruit lost causes?

The kid was Top 25 rated 5 Star player in 2009.

Lots of people wanted Rashaad Carruth too

Doesn’t mean he was a beacon of integrity.

Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."

Seems right

Wonder if Worldwide Wes is hooking him up with Cal?

I have be correctly accused of having a 'football fetish'. You know, someone who doesn't think football is the warm up sport to basketball season.

He's Not WWW Protege

He found some of the wrong crowd in the Twin Cities though.

Forty, a cleaning through the WWW washing machine, wouldn’t he be perfect for the Cats?
