If...When Will Kentucky Be Handed Our First Loss Of The Season?

Searching around the web today, I ran across this article by SI.com's Seth Davis where he discusses the currently undefeated college basketball teams remaining.  Link here for the full article.

Star-divide

Seth says that out of the remaining teams that are currently undefeated that all eleven teams will suffer as the majority of others already have.  It is inevitable, according to his thoughts, and he opines that all 11 head coaches would agree that it will happen. He notes that we shouldn't expect him to be perfect.  But, he likes his chances of being mostly right.

He does conclude that Kentucky and Syracuse will hold on to their winning streaks the longest with Syracuse possibly losing on January 16th to West Virginia and Kentucky losing on January 26th at South Carolina.  He lists in the article which opponent will hand the perfect and 0 contenders their destined fate.  Kansas, he says, may give Bruce Pearl reason to smile on January 10th, with Texas possibly making Tom Izzo's Christmas a little more merry on the 22nd.

So, does Seth have a clue this time?  Is he anywhere close?  Or, is his crystal ball totally cracked?  We all saw yesterday that according to the numbers at Kenpom.com, it is a (questionable) theory that the Gators might be our first test to remain undefeated.  We will face them two weeks prior to the Gamecocks when we will travel to Gainesville on the 12th.

I don't know how this team is going to round out the season.  I do know they are growing as a team and showing some type of improvement with every game, thus far.  Can they make us believe that playing the first Monday in April is going to happen?  I think they can.  They have shown they have the strong will and determination to win that we have always known our Wildcats could manage to pull out from somewhere deep down inside.  That is what our favorites do.

So I say, let's enjoy each and every game and cheer for our guys in blue all the way to Indy.  I think this team has enough potential to display another one in the rafters of Rupp Arena.  And yes, I do recommend trying the blue Kool-aid.  Go ahead, turn it up and let it dribble down your chin because you slurped it too fast.  It does taste sooooooo good.

Okay, okay.  I know we really like polls.  Here's one for you.  Merry Christmas!!   And GO BIG BLUE !!!

No guarantee that Cats have to L at all.

I agree Forty

I added IF to the title. :-) That’s why I have an option in the poll to win it all.

UK will almost certainly taste defeat a few times this season

At Florida is definitely possible, but I think it will be on the road at Mississippi St. or possibly even home against Ole Miss.

3 > 2, except for very large values of 2.

I hope it isn't a game at Rupp

I hope so too

And I don’t think it is likely, but Ole Miss is pretty good and they have the guards to keep up with Wall and Bledsoe so I think they have a decent chance.

If I had a preference to the 2 UT games, it would be in Knoxville

But…….I would never agree to say that even under the most dire circumstances….LOL
