2009 SEC Football Schedule
We beat Louisville by four after having an extra week to prepare. Check Vanderbilt's bye week.

No worse that many
It seems most have their bye week just before a big game. Kentucky is no different.
I don’t believe we can use the excuse of too many games in a row, etc.

I completely disagree.
Teams always want their bye week to be in the middle of the season or before a big game. Ours would have been either this week, if we had not scheduled EKU in that spot, or October 24 when we played La-Monroe. Think about that for a minute. If we had the 24th off, we have a healthy line on both sides who have gotten over nagging injuries. We have our full linebacking corps (including Micah Johnson) to help stuff the run and we have our running backs (specifically Locke) healthy from not getting banged up. You don’t think we might have been better against MSU in that situation?
For that matter, I would feel much better if the team had this week off (having already played and beaten EKU early in the year) and needing one win out of the last three with our players finally healed and ready to go. This schedule was poorly made from the beginning.
I would have thought that you, of all people, would have jumped on this issue since it is the fault of the administration.

I have to agree with lawdog.
If the Louisville game were later in the season, then yes, having a bye might make sense. This year, with Louisville being the second game and the first being a patsy, there was little to no chance that we would be banged up, injured, or worn out had we, say, played Miami, then La-Monroe, then Louisville, and then taken our bye before the MST or Vandy game.
Yes, hindsight is blah blah, and we of course didn’t know when scheduling that Trevard, Micah, etc. would be banged up at this point, but it’s safe to assume you won’t have serious injuries in your first 2-3 games, especially when 2 are against inferior competition and the third is against a very down Louisville team.
For me, always take the bye at least after the 4th week. In fact, I wouldn’t be opposed to taking the bye before an inferior foe later in the season – then, coming back, the guys get lesser competition to get back into the swing, then a big game.
It worries me that we appear to be doing the same thing next season.

Law guy
you haven’t told me what pleading to a DUI and a civil case about a contract have in comon and why settling the case before the plea had any reason to compact the other
Please check the above and consider the games above and explain the games whether the games after the bye weeks are considered big for
Alabama playing LSU
Arkansas vs Georgia
Auburn vs Alabama
LSU vs Auburn
Miss State vs Alabama
Florida vs LSU
Georgia vs Florida
South Carolina vs Clemson
Tennessee vs Alabama
I would consider those game pretty important for each of those teams.

We had choices and we made them
The first three weeks of the season were non conference. We could have played Louisville that first game, nope, we don’t want to. We could have played anyone we were buying to come in on any of those three weeks. Maybe not the ones we ended up with but if we’re paying someone to come in to Lexington, why not find someone who could come on the dates we want to play?
The conference sets the conference games, we do the others.
